If your purchase protection time is running out, then there is no point of waiting. Open dispute 5 to 10 days before time runs out. The seller can extend protection. Don't allow him to extend protection more than once. If you don't cancel dispute, the seller is bound to reimburse you if he is unable to deliver within time. I have experienced this twice and my full payment was reversed just the 3% bank charges were lost.
In my experience most of the time is lost after packages are received in Pakistan. The international postal companies stop tracking when they handover packages to Pakistan post. I have once my package delivered within 15 days by China post to Pakistan, but our locals took another 40 days to deliver it within city.
Among the postal companies China post is fastest in my experience, Singapore and Malaysian are next. Only packages that were not delivered were through "Sellers shipping method" on aliexpress. I have experience of about 40 orders, only 2 were not delivered and both were reimbursed, average shipping time is 50 to 60 days for me.
