They might slap on a few other duties too. Like excise duty and even sales tax.

Excise duty and sales tax is only slapped if there is custom tax.
If there is no custom tax then they cannot put any other duty legally.

I brought a package was around 3kg. It was an extension hose for pressure washer (10m long) made from pvc and steel inside lining. and cost was around 28$ and the same was mentioned on the package. Since no custom tax was applicable on hoses/pipes no sales tax etc was charged either

I also bought LED bulbs they were like 20$ and 35$.

None of them were taxed

according to Custom List, the duty on amplifier (item description as per invoice) is 20%, then there is additional duty of 2% on the landed value there is 17% GST and 5.5% income tax on top of it, in total this duty and tax structure becomes around 50% of the base value of item.....

and yes i got exchange rate of PKR 129 per USD from my bank which is SCB..

That's too much despite the fact interbank rate is stuck at 121 pkr.

This is the first time i am having this kind of issue, i called karachi they told me that they had shipped it on 20 and even give me the serial number but on asking lahore gpo they are not just kind of empty about this one as its not showing in their system with no track in packet section.
I am just waiting or should i register compaint with islamabad?
