So I went to the post office an hour after posting here, There was a guy in Pakistan Post uniform, I told him the story he then called someone probably post man and told him all of this. At first he said he has delivered the package etc etc. and after a while he said sorry it was a misunderstanding, I'll deliver it asap. After I came back home, he came within an hour and gave me my package.

I've ordered many things from Ali Express and the overall experience is great so far. Hence I'm thinking about ordering a smartphone now but the problem is PTA.

The phone I'm interested in is Lenovo K5 Play [Snapdragon 430, 3GB/32GB, 5.7" 18:9 display] which supports all Pakistani 3G/4G/LTE bands and it's currently on sale right now for just $90 and overall; it will cost me around ~13,500 rupees (including shipping and money transaction fee):

(Being sold by official Lenovo, so I don't think it's a scam!)

In Pakistan; you can only find lousy 32-Bit Mediatek quad-core Qmobiles in this price range, hence I'm thinking about giving it a shot but I don't know how much PTA is going to charge me. Neither do I know about the procedure of registering an imported phone, so can anyone shed some light on this?

It isn't that difficult to work with PTA.

you just send them an email to issue you an noc and mention the phone you want to import, complete specs and model number, especially is 3G,4G ranges that it uses. They will issue you an NOC within 5 days.
When the phone arrives in Pakistan it will be sent to customs office. You will receive a letter at home stating that please present an NOC. You can go to the post office that sent the letter give them the NOC. Come home.
After 2-3 days the customs slip will arrive. Again go to the same post office and pay the custom duty applicable and come home.
After 2-3 days post man will deliver your phone

My cousin bought a Xiaomi phone. I think cost was 8K and after taxes 11K. In the market it was being sold for 15K.
This was the process we had to go through. Location was rawalpindi

Seems relatively straightforward.

According to FBR customs tariff; I'm supposed to pay 11% as custom duty for 'video phones' (Under section 8517.1810) which I think is a generic legal term for a 'smartphone' so the 13,500 rupee phone will end up costing around 15-15.5k including shipping, customs etc.

That's quite fair, I'd say, for a Snapdragon Octa-Core phone from a well known company with decent dual-cameras and a fingerprint scanner.

Go to fbr website and from there you can download customs tarrif which has custom tax percentage of each and every possible item

More or less yeah. But i think there are a total of 3 taxes on phone. I dont remember which ones but there might be a video on Youtube.
But yeah total taxes on 13.5k phone will be around 2-4k

The custom duty is 3% on every computer related item, including hybrid laptop computers and wifi only Android Tablets.

I recently ordered a factory over-clocked Gigabyte GTX750Ti Windforce 2X and the import tax was only ~300 rupees (Although I was asked to cough-up 3,000 rupees)!

Very reasonable!

These taxes were reduced under PML(N) Government (From 7% to 3%). Unfortunately; there are rumors that the current government is going to revise it so if you're going to order something; order it soon!

Preferable before December 31st.

Well the process is you wait for the package to reach the seller and once he acknowledges the receipt, Aliexpress will initiate the refund.

It has been 12 days since i sent the package and it will reach in couple of days then i will update the rest of the process.

Finally received fast wireless charger (10W) and wireless receiver at the doorstep! Took around 25 days. The receiver came through China Post Registered Airmail a few days ago while the charger came via AliExpress' standard shipping today.

Both are from a highly reputed brand called "Baseus". And I ordered them via their official store on AliExpress. Both have top notch build quality although I haven't tested any of them because the LED fast charger; which I also ordered, still hasn't arrived.

No sense in using wireless charging with standard 0.5-1A chargers! It'll be painfully slow.

Anyhow, wish my poor charger some luck!

Does the receiver also support fast charging? As far i know, external receivers only give out 5W max.

Ordered some small items that were sent through unregistered mail and the tracking number provided by them has not been updated after 20th November. how long does it normally take for such unregistered mails to reach us.

I ordered another item the same day, it was sent through registered mail and I received it a few days ago
