Online purchase through AliExpress Dedicated Thread

Everytime I purchase, I receive the routine transaction notice in text. Today I made the effort to cross check it with the charge shown in the online portal and wallah, SCB has been charging me more than they showed in the texts.

1- I purchased a watch at $99.5 and it texted me a charge of 10143. Today, I checked the transaction online and it shows a charge of 10688. That is a USD rate of 107.x, exactly 5 more than the prevalent market and inter bank rate of ~102.x.

2- I purchased a microsd card ($9.24) and it texted me a charge of PKR 941. Today I noticed the actual bill in the online portal to be 990 again at 107.x for the dollar.

I called their helpline and their rep conveniently said "Sir merchant foran charge nahi karta, jab 1,2 din baad woh charge karta hai "open market" rate badal gaya hota hai".
I said, why does it always charge 5% more by magic. Dunya mein dollar rate mere Aliexpress k purchase se linked hai kya? Aglay din kya jadu hota hai, jab akhbar parho dollar ka rate akhbaar mein 102 he likha aata hai. Aur, SCB bank hai ya money exchange jo open market rate charge karta hai.

He had no answer. I have emailed SCB and will await their reply before pursuing alternate methods to stop SCB's fraudulent practice of charging more than the amount they send the unwary clients in texts.

I also have been purchasing through scb debit .. They charged around 106 rupees per dollar when dollar was like 101-102 rupees .. They text me in dollars only but not in rupees.. Although through app I can see rupees deducted

I also use SCB credit card for online transactions and currently the USD transactions are billed @ Rs.107. But what really pissed me off is that when I recently got a refund in USD, they converted it to rupees @ Rs. 100!!!

I went through the schedule of charges and it seems like SCB charges Rs. 1 per dollar spent on online transactions + 3% of the transaction amount on credit cards.

But this is not charged on debit cards. Previously I was using SCB debit card for online transactions and the bank's exchange rate was Rs. 102.5. When I switched to a credit card the rate went up to Rs. 107. So I guess when it comes to SCB it would be better to stick to debit cards instead of a credit card.

I've done a transaction yesterday of $15.41 and total amount deducted from my account is 1641.18, subtracting bank session activation charges 1641-100= 1541 means they charged me @Rs.100 per $

Hi All of you, I have a simple solution for all of you.

I can guide you in creating a dollar master card account. You can pay through it in any online store and thus you will be able to avoid any hidden charges.
And also you'll receive 100% back in case of refund.

My first experience with Aliexpress
Seller shipped the item on 17th April. item reached Khi according to tracking details. No tracking details in Pakistan called post office they launched a complain on 13th May. After several calls they gave me no. of Rwp post office. called them they gave me isb post office no. they gave me khi post office no. Khi post office said my parcel is in Multan. Called Multan GPO they gave me mob no. of GPO official who deals in International parcels called him he said he returned the parcel to Khi then he said i dont have details of ur parcel. Again called helpline and they said my parcel is shipped to china on 16th May 2015 (They don't know the reason of return) and they asked me to contact the seller. Seller has already extended the protection period. I have told the situation to seller today.

Can any body suggest what should i do ?

Most of these devices are highly inaccurate. Only buy the ones that are approved and certified to be accurate and fit for medical use.

I have seen many sellers saying "Cannot ship to your selected country/destination", I am afraid if such things kept happening all online stores will stop sending/selling items to pakistani users.

Tracking shows item arrived to Pakistan but they never reach the destination. How to deal with Pakistan Post as they simply say we haven't received the item yet?

I second you here, I am ordering stuff on Aliexpress since 2011 and have ordered thousands of dollar stuff so far, many of my products got lost in the mid way. For some products i requested refunds and for some i kept losses with myself. You see sellers are Loyal people and in REAL business, we Pakistani's are not in REAL business tho.

My younger bro ordered watches never received any, didn't request refund because seller started whining about losses.

Now i had to order an Apple Watch & LG G Watch W100, i've shipped them UAE, younger one ordered Elephone P7000 and getting that delivered to UAE also. We don't want lost items again, Pakistani's will never learn and they will always be greedy at heart. Sorry if this hurts many.

I'm HBL debit card holder, though I've never used it online but according to my knowledge you need to activate the session by calling HBL helpline.
