if a person ships items from china to pak, via courier service. is he liable to pay duty?

I am regular buyer on Ali Express. It is best online international shopping place where who ship you the product. Very reliable and trustworthy. But if you purchase anything Customable item, if through DHL delivery, they charge custom the time of delivery. If through China Post then custom Authority detain it at GPO and issue a letter to you to come personally and clear your item after a time consuming process of 2 to 3 hours. So always prefer DHL for Customable items.

what are customable items? any list sort of thing is available

I ordered for the first time and it was sent via Singapore post, Tracking on Singapore Post and Pakpost site shows above results. I am little confused that why it was sent to Karachi although i had given a Lahore address. How many more days it will take? Btw its a mobile phone so i am not expecting a delivery without PTA NOC and custom charges. Thanks in advance!

Received my smart watch today, shipped on 14th, reached KHI on 25th n i got it today

box had mentioned $10 price n marked it as gift still customs opened it to check

postman delivered it n asked for 600rs, i saw the receipt
it mentioned re packaging so it was opened, then duty was of around 100, custom clearance charges around 295 n some VAT etc etc, around 8-10 figures were there, total was 562rs

told him to take ur chai pani etc but always deliver the items

so even though 10$ was mentioned they charged 50% as customs in total adding all the values
but this thing was good that they delivered it to doorstep n asked for the custom n not like lhr where u have to do khawari of visiting their office waste time n pay the same amount of money
