The production of these trucks stopped in 1984. They are the bedford J6 or J5 trucks. 3300.cc with 109hp. cant carry more than 5 tons(if original bedford gear and differential are used). So in order to solve this problem Pakistani mechanics have come with an ingenious solution.
Japanese differentials and gears (like nissan diesel, hino, mitsubishi etc) are used in order to increase the capacity upto 15 tons(15000 kg).
Every thing gear, differential, chasis, front axle, shafts, leaf springs, hubs, tyre spindles, power stearing etc etc is Japanese.
All the bedford trucks which u see carrying huge loads on GT road just carry the name of bedford on their hood, actually they are japanese on the inside.
N one more thing about price tag.
for an original bedford: U can buy it for just 4 lakh
for one with upgraded parts : It can cpost upto !4 lakh
