Thank you everyone.

We started our journey on April 6th in Albuquerque, NM at 11 in the morning.

Getting onto I-40E.

On Ramp to I-40 E.

Heading east on I-40 in Albuquerque, NM.

Must choose the correct lane.

They seem to take speeding quite seriously in New Mexico. I did not see any highway petrol vehicle, anywhere.

Heading east on I-40 at 70MPH.

Interesting name for a road.

Vast empty spaces in New Mexico, as far as the eye can see.

Stopped at a rest area along I-40. It turned out to be a historic place.

Unfortunately, I was tired and relinquished the driving chore to my wife at this rest area.

I slept for couple of hours and missed most of Texas. :)

Woke up in Dalhart, TX and was forced behind the wheel.

Angus beef. Most of us in Pakistan are probably not familiar with the fact that all beef meant for human consumption comes from male cows (Bulls) only. When female cows are done with their milking duties, the meat is mostly used in pet food. That meat never enters human food chain.

Another wind farm along US-52. We saw many such installations in strong wind areas like Oklahoma panhandle and adjacent areas in Texas and Kansas.

nice pictures and landscapes.. especially the entry to new mexico, looks quite similar to those flat-top mountains (whatever they're called) in balochistan.. nice

and those trees have branches extruding upwards - thats what I think is wrong with them..

and 100% gas could mean no water/kerosene added - it could well be some desi's station who knows the practice back home and wanted to emphasize on the purity of his gas/fuel..

I completely forgot about the question I had asked earlier.

Those are date palms, except one. It is the tallest one in the photo. If you look closely, it looks just a bit different. Here is the closeup:

This is a fake tree.

It is a cell tower. To comply with local city ordinances, cell towers installed near residential neighborhoods must be concealed in some way to hide the hideousness.

Now don't run over and climb that tree; there are no dates on it.

I am still trying to figure out the sign; 100% Gas. Why would they have a sign like that? Maybe tooooooslooooow can shed some light on this.
We Okie's does not like water down gas(10% Ethanol Blend) so we advertise pure gas as 100% gas;)
