Guys, small query (more of a bug tingling - please dont bash me over this either).

Gonna put it right out here:

1jz Ge. getting a good deal - all things with the motor included, the wiring, ecu, gear etc.

Should or shouldn't be in the pajero? more emphasis on should be
won't be used for any sort of hardcore offroading - will be used as a casual tourer once or twice a year.

what would be the milage with both the manual or auto tranny.

milage is a concern (as most of you might think that it shouldnt be since its a jeep and so on) because it'll also be used as a second car.

There are plenty of mitsubishi 6g72, 6g73 available & they'll give better economy than 1jz.
& when options are available for pajero don't go for Toyota bro.
6g72 series is really common and new engine parts are also available.
I know people having ecu, spark wires etc
And it's basic v6 not with any advanced sensors

6g's are around 150-170k. & swap costs climb up to 50-100k depends on the quality of lubes you use

Totally agree with you regarding the original setup being a priority, that is what i want as well eventually down the road as well.

That being said, as of now i really want to get the vehicle back on the road otherwise it'll just rot away until i have enough money to go the original Mitsubishi route which is why every now and then i have the bug in me come back to life whenever im getting a good deal on a good motor setup.

Since for now swapping a non mitsu motor is in my budget therefore i want something that comes with original stuff - mainly the ecu and the wiring. But need to consider the milage in strong consideration as this will be used as a second car (and quite frankly i do love the mk1). Again, when i say good milage, i dont expect crazy numbers like 12+ kmpl. Anything above 8-9 would do.

Another thing, i missed the opportunity of a clean 6g72 start of this year. Was with complete wiring, ecu and gear....

i've discussed the possibility of the swap with my mechanic for now, havent gone into the cost details - will be meeting up with him over the weekend for further clarity on the expense.

the swap is doable, of course, has been done before as well many times. it's the milage part that concerned me a bit. my guy mentioned an average of around 6kmpl, which for me is a killer atm. this is also why i wanted another opinion regarding this. complexity of the swap won't be an issue for my mechanic, that much i trust him plus will be supervising it with whatever little knowledge i have, he's worked on both gen 1 and gen 2 pajeros before and done swaps as well.

I haven't visited bilal gunj since quite some time now, but from what i know is that a reasonable 4d56 ti is upwards of 1.75 lac. Could be wrong but thats what ive checked from a couple of sources. And this is without the tranny.

Hello everyone, does anyone have any leads of sourcing engine wiring for a 3sfe? need wiring for the RWD in particular with coils and ecu/computer. have checked bilal gunj but is of no use. only the FWD configuration wiring is available.

would appreciate help from different cities as well.

Just an update to the vehicle - so i got a good deal for a 3rzfe with the ECU and complete wiring. Had the engine shipped from Pindi to Lahore a month or so back and got it installed and running in the Paj. So far i've had a little hiccups - some wiring related stuff and some mechanical fixes needed. Alhamdulilah the Paj is back on road and working fine, not as refined as i would want it to. There's still things going on here and there.

Next on the list is the to get the gearbox changed, its running a 2C gearbox that was with the previous 3S. planning on getting the original Mitsu gearbox KM145. Can someone help confirm if the gearbox for both the diesel and petrol variants was the same i-e KM145?

Any support on this please? Would the original tranny for the 3rz fit in place of the original tranny but with the 4x4 being active as well.

Also, the gearing ratio is very short as of now, the engine puts out a decent amount of power but it isnt being properly put to the wheels. Any suggestions on changing the rear diff as well please. Which one to go for, from a petrol pajero or from a surf if that would fit? what ratio should i be looking for.
