change the oil it will definitely fix your cold start issue, i once poured the exact same oil and faced same cold issue, use a low viscosity oil like 10W-40, halvoline 20W-50 is the worst ever oil

if your engine oil or coolant doesnt decrease then don't worry about the smoke if its only at startup

your fuel economy would be better after changing oil and cat con does affect it but not much if no check light

the car has two computers, one for gearbox one for engine, change the engine one to 1100cc one its on the driver side footwell, 1100cc i don't think is compatible with eh overdrive transmission as this engine was never offered with it, don't know if changing the computer for transmission would work, i don't think you'll get overdrive

the fuel consumption problem maybe because your car has a different ECU running a bigger engine and a different transmission and differentials the gear ratios are different
if you can get the original Pajero Jr transmission manual/auto (your preference) with proper ECU's and differential your car would run smoothly

the problem with your car is yours is the post 2001 model, the one with square headlights right?, this model was never ever offered a s pajero junior or in 1100cc form, even if you put junior transmission ecu it still wont work as the 1100cc engine is not compatible with this newer overdrive transmission, overdrive still wont work as junior engine was only offered with a three spd transmission

Hmmm......if transmission is changed according to 1100cc which has 3 fwd gears (auto).....what will be the fuel avg. keeping in view that i try to keep its rpm below 4000.

fuel avg would obviously drop from what you originally had with 660cc, i think it would remain same to what you are getting now with current setup, in any way don't expect more than 11km/l in any case even if you fix everything

btw why did you swap originally, do you still have the original engine? cant it be repaired and put back, the original setup in this car was already good and has decent performance with good fuel economy

Bro i recently bought it and 1100cc was already in it.....if it me! i would nvr done any sort of alternation....btw mechanics r also suggesting to put 660cc turbo (its original) engine back....so tht everythin can be at par with original sittings......with this i will be getting 13 km /l avg. ............dont knw what to do ...... please suggest! (its an expense of at least 30 - 35 k)

Your 1100 engine should get you good price I suggest you start a thread for selling it on Pakwheels. Its price should cover all the expense.

what do you mean by tuning? do understand that its a modern EFI car and requires no tuning. just change spark plugs and clean the throttle body gently if necessary, don't whatever you do give it a bath in petrol or something. if you are facing other issues, connect a computer scanner and check for ant store codes or see the long term fuel trim and short term fuel trim or at max monitor the AFR value form exhaust if you feel theres specifically issue you are facing. again i repeat theres no such thing as tuning in the conventional sense in efi cars. 9/10 mechanics mess up the car in the name of tuning when it doesnt exist.

lol gussa nahi horaha man:P actually i was living in raawalpindi last year and bought my mini pajero from rawalpindi and completely fixed in pindi as well. i have butted heads with almost all mechanics in gwalmandi and some in sultan ka khoo as well. i never ever took my car to any workshop or to gwalmandi etc, always brought mechanics to my home, gave them my tools, initially i wasn't knowledgable much so let them do the job but they would always do a jaguar or wrong diagnosis/tools/shortcut afterwards i got so tired of them i started doing everything my self after som experience and started to direct mechanics my self at home and told them to do as i say you may give your opinion but will only do as i i say, and afterwards masha allah myself at my home the car was all restored on factory specs,

i know the mentality of each and everyone of the mechanics in rawalpindi and thats why when you guys post your issues and mostly know what the mechanic is gonna respond and none of them i would consider worth working on my car except one who was much better and he had studied in uk, and had torque wrenches etc also
