what are the Pros n Cons of Diesel 3200 in a Pajero 2000?

Pros, amazing acceleration, DID technology, decent consumption.
Cons, Requires extra care, needs very clean diesel, fuel filter needs special notice and parts are very expensive

Imported (probably Japan) or the one made for cold areas have two batteries to heat the thing up quickly for cold start.

What’s the view on a Petrol 2001-2004 or a diesel one which is better to buy and maintained wise parts keep.

I think a jeep ought to be a diesel only, main reason being its torque. A petrol engine can't match a diesel engine's torque and that's what one needs at odd spots while touring in the North. Though I don't have the model mentioned by yourself but I have had Exceed Intercooler 2.8D for the past 5 years. and I have occasionally contemplated on switching over to petrol but kept checking myself. A one-hand maintained diesel engine hardly gives any maintenance issues. I would be interested in hearing views of the petrol keepers.

Diesel one hands down. GDI is a pain to own a bigger pain to maintain

a 4M40 is a treat to drive, gives superior average and longer life than any 1KZ etc, however the petrol version is also very nice, the quiet cabin and almost vibration free interior and cruise speeds add up to the charm, low end torque is obviously a bit less than a diesel but you hardly need it nowadays until you are going hardcore most of the year, Another thing I have noticed while travelling north is that the diesel quality is very poor and the petrol is really exactly same quality of what we find in the major cities. Most diesels start giving blue smoke. So my pick would be a Petrol as I have no plans to put it into extra deep water.

3rd gen petrol are all gdi, and those are a pain to own, they would amazing when working but once gone wrong, which they definitely do, it brings you down on your knees and makes one cry. Since the fuel here isn't compatible for it, gdi should be the last thing to consider

Amer, which petrol version do you recommend 3.0 lit or 3.5 lit and what is the engine model called?

Fuel seriously? Come on man what fuel has to do with gdi engine failure?

The engine doesn't fail, the injectors, the fuel pump and the gdi system fail. I have said this before and i shall say it again, it works like a charm till it works, once it goes wrong, it makes a person cry, wheep and beg but still never returns to its original state.
This is from experience, not just mine, but endless others too.

Injectors do fail but gdi engines suffer from much worse issue than just injector failure I thought you were refering to that

salam brothers, i have 1st generation 3 door pajero. The problem i m facing is that both the clutch cylinder kits keep failing and leaking oil which renders the vehicle useless and constantly pushes me to check the clutch oil... Please if anyone has the solution let me know..
