As far as I know the final drive ratio of 4.222 was only in earlier models of the Pajero sport. Doubt you'll be able to find that either.. possibly look into importing it from Thailand?

I want a decent 4x4 for some northern area touring in price tag of 1.5 million. Searched market and 2nd gen pajero seems a good option to me as it has better interior and accessories as compared to same model surf/prado. But I heard that pajero 2.8 does not like driving on motorway at speed of 120 for couple of hours. People say it easily gets heat up and its engine is more prone to head crack. How true is it for a 2.8 intercooler turbo? I think even a 1kz non-intercooler is also prone to head crack as compared to intercooler version.

It depends on the condition of the vehicle. If it is well maintained, cooling system is in good order, a 2.8 auto should not have a problem in cruising at 120 on motorways. However, the speed needs to be reduced on inclines. Most pajero experts recommend keeping the rpm below 3000 while cruising. If you want further safety, get an EGT gauge installed. You should be aware that a 20-25 yrs old vehicle will require periodic maintenance.

No, its a full body conversion from diesel to petrol, and all petrol accessories were fitted including the secondary condensor fan.

I am planning to purchase a 5 door 2nd generation..
As I am purchasing SUV for the first time i am totally an beginner..
i will be using it for both on and off road purposes as with this SUV i want to treat my passion for travelling
I am more interested for the 2800cc inercooler one but i have heard from people that pajero makes trouble on motorways and highways when driven on high speed for long routes? is there something like that and if so than how can we overcome it?
some people have advised me that after purchasing a 2.8 intercooler i should swap the engine with a 3000cc petrol engine so that it wont make any issue on high speed
Please if the people already using this Car could guide me about above mentioned points

It is a nice choice, given the transformation is done completely with no spared expense. Attempting jogar and low budget conversion is a big no here

30 years old, mid size diesel suv.... They all don't like high speed very much as they aren't designed for it.
it will do fine at 100-110kmh, above that is asking for trouble

Diesel, but just the old ones. New ones don't have this issue. Petrol ones have other issues
