These sound like minor problems but can give you headaches for life. A friend after buying a 70 series Prado (converted from 2L T to 1kz) changed all three foundations immediately. However, the noise and vibrations didn't go away. And, those mountings got broken within one year. Turned out to be the case of a bad engine swap job. Since the vehicle drives terribly so now he is going through the hassle of getting all the alterations redone and paying the price of it too.

Above is a case of same brand of vehicle getting an upgraded engine swap. What to expect from totally different vehicles and engines?

I would suggest to get a 2nd opinion before taking a decision. In case the engine needs overhauling, I would go either for repairing the same engine, or replacing it with a same model engine.

I have recently bought my first pajero. It is a first gen 1990 model. I wanted help with regards to finding interior parts for it(eg. steering horn pad) and body parts (such as side mirrors and a rear tailgate mirror. I am based in Karachi. I would also be helpful if anyone can refer a good suspension/steering mechanic.

Brand new tie rods 4 and brand new ball joints 4 plus brand new front shocks are quoted for 12000, 16000 and 12000 respectively. I can get the tie rods repaired. Should I get new stuff or should I go for repairs

Assalam o Alikum pajero owners. I recently became owner of a 96 pajero v6 3.0 petrol auto transmission Alhumdulliah. As this is my first experience with pajeros, I seek advice from experts before getting my hands dirty with the solutions. The issue being faced is, the RPM is touching almost 3000 while gear is placed on any position except D. On D (drive), the rpm is around 2500 and if foot removed from break pedal, the car goes up till 20 km/h and shifts to 2nd gear without me touching the acceleration pedal. The previous owner and his technician diagnosed this as a issue for air flow sensor, as when it is removed, the acceleration becomes normal. My question after telling the background is, does this issue seem to be of air flow sensor? or any other thing can lead to it, like a tuning issue as rpm is always up, secondly, where can I find and in what cost I can find this Air Flow sensor in Karachi. It is better if you replace the tie rod ends. These won't last long when you get these pressed only.

If the acceleration is normal with the MAF sensor unplugged then your mechanic is right. The sensor has malfunctioned. In the first instance get it cleaned to see how the vehicle is running. If still there are problems then this sensor needs to be replaced.
