Hey, I have recently bought a Pajero 2004 and im going for a complete redo. I want to get a new roof lining along with a few interior panels such as the trunk tray, door handles etc, Can someone please tell me where should i go for all this interior restoration in Karachi. Plus is it possible to redo the beige panel on the doors. Thank you

Bought a 1990 Pajero Turbo Wagon 2.5 l diesel.Mileage is 300k.Is restoring,activating air conditioner on it and is it safe for longer journeys like M2.Asking because it is a first experience of buying an old car and keeping in mind the extreme temperatures of Lahore.And what is that fuel box like thing in the back with extra tyre called?

The can at the back is called Jerry can, it's to carry excess fuel in. It's alright for the m2, given that you drive between 90-110, it's not wise to drive it consistently on 120-130. Locally it has no issues. Congratulations on the purchase

1- is there a difference in 2.8 diesel of 2nd gen and 2.8 diesel 3rd gen pajero. Hence any difference in maintainance.

2-what should be price of 3rd gen. Islamabad or rwp/ Islamabad.

3-how is the overall maintenance of rs gen pajero, in terms of part availability.

4- what's the token tax of islamabad no and Punjab no, 2.8 and 3.2 diesel 2001-2006 pajero.(More than 10 yrs old).

1. Yes, second Gen is mechanical, 3rd Gen has quite a few electronics. Not much difference in maintenance.

2. A well maintained dewan import is around 3 mil, a Grey import/auction vehicle around 2.5-2.8

3. New parts are available, used parts are declining, but if you know the correct places to look, you will find them.

4. Isl no. Used to be 450, now I think it's around 4k.
   Punjab must be double that, if not more

the trunk tray is missing, the ac vents and inner door handles are broken, i want to install new headlights and tail lights along with rear reflector lights.

plus the leather on the door and the roof lining is very dirty and scratched up

Actually yesterday during my search for SUV. Found out that1996 Prado 2.8 Islamabad no, has token tax of 10k. Initially it used to be 348 rs. So now not much difference in isl and Punjab token tax.

How complicated are gen 3 2.8 diesel electronics. Engine and gear. Can our mechanics handle them? So gen 2 and gen 3 2.8 diesel are not interchangeable?

Is it true diesel pump of 3.2 costs 2-3 lacs. Just stumbled upon old thread.
