Guys my Wagon R has crossed 5000 KM mark recently. Need to get its gear oil change now. Should i go for Suzuki genuine oil or should I opt for after market oil matching the recommended grade in manual? I don't care about warranty, all i need is smooth shifting.
Can you guys share your experience after changing gear oil from Suzuki? Did the gears got hard then before or shifting got smoother?

I asked this question from Suzuki and their reply was Sir apko warranty ni chayee? I don't find any specific reason of changing gear oil at 5k KM other then saving warranty. But owner manual also says 1st gear oil should be changed at 5k KM and then at 40k.
If anyone can shed some light on this sorcery?

break in.....gear buxa rawaan ho raha hai.. first oil might be contaminated by metal shavings

Safdar bhai the oil suzuki uses is also recommended in Manual. Best is 75-80 i think and there are other alternatives too. I would stick with SGO, i think. Or else Zic is good.

The best part of using SGO will be that if anything wrong happens with gear box then I'll be able to claim it.

Yes its mentioned in manual. Yes I myself will be going for after market engine oil. No way I'm pouring in 10w-40 in new engine. I'll opt for 0w-30 or 5w-30.

My corolla has clocked 50k still on factory gear oil .

Guys how does its AC perform now adays in sizzling hot weather? is it effective ..can yu record the vent tenperature in afternoon time! thnx

Bro, I got my gear oil changed at 5K inspection and the gear shifting became harder than before. You have to apply extra force especially for shifting the car in 1st gear. When questioned, I was given this ready made reply that the gear shifting would become smoother than before after some time. From 5K inspection till today, the car has run for about 400 Kms but I haven?t observed any satisfying results so far, irony!

Bro, AC is the first thing I love in this car and earnestly speaking, it does perform reasonably well in this scorching heat of about 45 degree celsius.

Its better to change at 5k. I also did it

I didnt faced such problem dear after using sgo
