I booked my Wagon R VXL through Meezan Bank in the Mid of August. The dealership gave me the date at the end of October. But it delivered to me on 30th November because of some issue between bank and Suzuki Karachi. Well, it was driven 27km when it was handed over to me. I filled the tank from Caltex pump. I drove approx. 15 km and I begin to feel a lot of missing. First, I thought it was because of drive by wire system as my previous car was Suzuki alto and I never drove a 1000cc car with drive by wire system before. My friends have Wagon R 2015 model which is not drive by wire. I didn’t feel anything like that in them. Here, let me explain the missing/knocking issue. I was doing 80Km/h in fifth gear and suddenly throttle became unresponsive. No matter how hard I pressed it, the car begins to lose power. Throttle remains unresponsive until I release it and push it again without changing the gear. It happened in almost every gear. Well someone pointed out that it may be because of the bad quality petrol. I read the owner’s manual, it was mentioned there to use RON 91 unleaded fuel in this car. I changed the filling station and at that time new fuel was also introduced. I filled the tank with regular fuel, this missing became less frequent. At 3rd filling of the tank, this issue is gone.
Later on, I found the following issues in the car.
1 – Front Passenger door was not aligned with the body. I asked the dealership to fix them on the first service. They somehow adjusted it.
2 – There were two places on the car where paint was scratched and also there was strange kind of dot at the bonnet only visible at some angles. (I found these during waxing the car). Dealership fixed these patches on the first service without any hesitation.
3 – Sometimes brake light does not turn off even you lock the car. This issue is also fixed in the first service.
Followings are the mileage figures till now. Mileage figures are fine for me. Overall, car performance is good. DBW is a good addition to this car.
I installed the leathered seat covers (Rs. 4300/- with Installation from Saddar Rawalpindi). Also sewed the steering with leather (Rs. 500/-).
I am satisfied with the front speakers. So, I ordered the front speakers for the back doors. They cost me Rs. 3506/-. They are very light. Funny Story here, I asked Suzuki Islamabad motors guys to install the speakers. They replied wagon R do not have any space for speakers in the rear doors. I was surprised. Apparently, I was the first guy who shows them there is space available in the rear doors for speakers. Well, they said ‘Sir! App bahir sy lagava lain. Hum ko nai pata yeh kesay lagain gay”. Kher, I installed them. They are decent. Good enough for me.
I regularly checked the tire pressure on every fuel refill. Every Tire loses almost 3 psi after every 450Kms. Anybody faced this issue Or is it normal? (using stock tires)
I got into accident a few days ago. Motorbike hit the wheel cap and then he ran away. I went to purchase a new wheel cap from suzuki dealership. They quoted me the price of 4000 for one wheel cap. I have question, wheel caps of imported wagon R are same? and what is the price of wheel cap in the local market?
Also, anyone installed the rubber under the bonnet? If yes, from where and how much did it cost?
