0w-20 is best for the engine in wagonr for any climatic condition. I have been using 0w-20 in my wagonr in the scorching summers of lahore and also i am a heavy foot driver, so far so good Alhamdulillah. If you read the engine oil section of the owner`s manual then 0w-20 is given the priority

I agree with you. This is why I asked him provide any reference where he read it which I am sure he won't find. I don't know why people make such assumptions by their own. When owners manual says 0W-20 then it's 0W-20 and it didn't mentioned 0W-20 is for winters or cold climate only.

I own 2015 model and it's almost 67000km driven. I am using 0W-20 since day one even when Pak Suzuki don't used to sell that grade. Recently I did a trip from Islamabad to Karachi in one go with that same engine oil grade and the performance didn't dropped a bit not did the oil level degrade during the journey.

He is mostly wrong, climate doesnt decide the engine oil specification for modern engines, the design itself plays the most important part. Always follow the thinnest oil recommended in the owner`s manual

Who's this guy? Did he design the engine of Wagon R or part of that team?
The owner's manual is written by people who actually engineer the engine.

I can't believe PakWheels is showing such irresponsible behavior in the videos. Also, I strongly disagree with the 0W part of his recommendation. The most wear n tear on the engine occurs on a cold start, not during operating temperature. The operating temperature of the engine remains around 100C no matter what climate it's in.

These days even the bigger turbo engines recommend 0W-20 oils. Modern engines are a lot different than they used to be. Using thick oil thinking it will protect better OR using thicker oil when the mileage gets high are all obsolete concepts.
If you keep using thick oil in these modern engines, they will fail prematurely with time.

I have seen the same video 2 years ago and was convinced.

SAE 0W-20 is the best choice for good fuel economy, and good starting in cold weather. (As per owner manual)

Yes, if you are boycotting total parco prepared sgo 0w20 then yes, zic, kixx, caltex , shell etc will work fine as long as they are not fake. And yes, you can switch directly from 10w40

yes, it will be good for the whole life of engine. Just change it in time and you will easily get 350k + miles from your engine. I am a heavy foot driver so i get around 12-13 and also the traffic in my area is usually high during peak hours

I switched from Total quartz 5w-30 to PSO 5w-30 and I must say I'm really surprised. PSO 5w-30 is an extremely great oil. Reduced engine noise and vibration. Ever so slightly increase in fuel economy.

You can get Caltex and Shell in both 3L and 1L easily. Difficult to get SGO for that grade in 3L. But it is available.

The HAVOLINE ProDS FULLY SYNTHETIC by Caltex (Imported) comes at Rs 1,175 / 1L bottle in both 0W-20 and 5W-30 API-SN.

Remember that total oil capacity in PAK Wagon R is 2.9L and NOT 3L. If you pour all 3L in it, it will be over the max mark and cause the engine to heat up more and also make more noise.

3l wont cause any issues. I have been using 5w30 for 30k kms in my wagonr, 3l all the time then switched to 0w20 fully synthetic, 3l as well and now the car is 46k on odo and it is trouble free Alhamdulillah

Wow. They have seriously increased the price a lot recently. It used to be for 3300 for the 4L pack a few weeks back.
