@Vietnam... It will be murder for your Landy, if you install a 2L engine in it.. 1st of all 2L engine is a great falure of toyota even in its own veh.. 2dnly It will not work with Defnder Gear...

@Vietnam.. If you want to change its engine than you may go for 200 or 300 tdi engines available with gears in Peshawar.. You can make a good deal by bargaining and then enjoy Genuine Land Rover Experience...

However, I am a firm believer of Toyota engines. 2L engine, not 2L Turbo, is a beautiful engine, with somewhat less horsepower than the tdi engine manufactured by BMW, but with robustness that can match any engine of its comparable size.
Vietnam (Irshad Miskeen) has problem with original Land Rover engine. I think changing over to a newer version will cost him a lot, and still it will have a Land Rover engine which is something like a NO-GO for local mechanics.

You experience might be good, but when I bought a My 1st Defender in 2004, it was fiitted 3l engine with LT77 gear. Believe me it couldn even go upto 50 km speed..

2ndly... Land Rovers are no more NO-Go for machanicics. There are atleast 6 machnics in Rwp- Islamabad doing LR mantenence..

I am against the non genuine altertions... TA alteration cannot serve the purpose... 200 and 300 tdi engines are now easily available on good prices in Peshawar. (if someone can bargain).
