LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has announced to reduce the fares of passenger trains up to 40 percent - ARY News reports.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the reduction in fares will be applicable from October 23, which will be in effect till December 31.

Thats a very nice move this will increase the occupancy rate in ac sleeper and business clas .thy should also decrease fares on specific sectin like betwen lhr rwp lhr fsd etc .on pindi lhr sectin people prefr railcar and many didnt get seat and at same time on other platform an expres train is also going to same destinatin bt no one goes on it bcz of too much fare even in econmy clas.same with ac sleper rwp lhr fare is 1100 who wil go on this when in that fare thy can go on daewo premium plus

though i agree railway top management is not loyal but these lower level employees are more threat to railway whenever any of them found wrong and get punished their fellows start strikes and vulgar techniuqes to clear his names even he was on fault and they always think they are right and management is wrong
telling you one incident that i saw 2 years back when pr was in worst condition
i was on rawalpindi station and awam express arrived from peshawer 2 mins before its actual time where trains are going long delayed during these days but then this prem union start protest and said no driver will drive train so at train departure time the engine blow whistle and start rolling but after few second it stops again and the reason was the leader of this prem union ishtaik aasi reached the locomotive and pulled driver out of locomotive and he forced driver to paticipate in protest
so trains remains there for exactly 2 hours n 40 mins after that train departs
now you know this delay of 2 hour and 40 mins at this position will cause more delays till it reach karachi and after protest the chairmen of prem union gave interview that we will protest against management but we will not stop our trains and keep the rail going but on the other hand they forcely stopped the train for 2 hours 40 mins but they said we are not stopping trains
during that days trains are hardly running and the few trains that are running were continuly stopped by these unions which lead to complete closure of railway but infront of media they claim they are innocent they trying to keep trains going but when trains going on time they are forcibly stopping them and in the end the reporter of din news said to him that you said you are not stopping trains but here you delayed awam exp for about 3 hours and in reply mr chairmen has no ans so that reporter say to him "ap log wo log hain jo chaye k ik cup py bk jaty hain"
and exactly same thing happens after 2 weeks i saw a news in jang where same mr chairmen mr ishtiak aasi was sitting with mr bilour the minster of that time and saying we are with you mr bilour keep it up

If you want to see organisations like OGDCL, PIA and Railways to prosper all labour unions must be banned. Same goes for the rest of the industry.

i agree with you bcz when an employee enters in union thingy and organization politics his efoorts towards his actual work become minimum an and he seems more intrested in other activites other that for which he is hired by company
same goes to student unions u can see when student enters into union thingy their efforts towards real purpose i.e study goes minimum while outside activity intrest level reach to maximum and that dangerous for both himself and organization

people i need info
yesterday i saw a pics of night coach (attached) and what i saw there is a ac sleeper coach with it which is chinese coach not a pakistani ac sleeper
i didnt get its full pic so i really want to know that pr introduced these new chinese coach ac sleepers ? if yes then can some one post pics of it and if possible interior pics and also tell if they are new ac sleepers or locally modified business class into ac sleeper

Pakistan railway going to start tourist train between rwp and khewra so I planned to take ride on this so I call my friend who works on rwp station to get more details and his reply make me not to take ride on this train bcz the ticket is of 1500
Now if a person with his family of 4 wish to take ride can he spend 6000 for this?
Railway is meant for midle class and railway managment are taking steps like their customer are upper class people
And teling u with such costly ticket this train wil again stoped after 1 or two journeys as thy are asking too much
Seriously this is the begining of the end

Was at Karachi Cantt Station today 3:30pm to drop my Mamu for Bhawalpur --- was surprised to see clean and tidy, office and staff all in order.
