The rear defogger should have been present in Mehran.
Regarding the Cigarette lighter in Alto then I completely agree.
It looks too much awkward.

The fuel lid upgrade was made in Cultus in the 2002 onward models and the fuel lid could be opened from inside.
Dekhain Mehran par kab PS walay nazar-e-karam karte hain.

Talking about Mehran,
There used to be a side moulding (commonly known as kaali patti) on the sides and it protected the doors to a large extent.
In 2002 when Mehran was named as Mehran "Re-born" these pattis were also removed along with the side vents in the VX variant.
They were offered with the top of the line variant i-e VXR

Cultus uptill 2006 used to have golden coloured embelms with the VXL trim.
They were replaced with the silver ones after 2006.
However one addition of FF 13" alloys was made to the VXL trim.
Later in 2010 when the VXL trim was discontinued, the rear emblems were removed and only the Cultus one was left.

The 2002~03 model Cultus.

@Poster this is an example of a Suzuki lets have a look at the status symbol Honda. In late 90's Atlas Honda published an add in print media highlighting their "Safety First" slogan i.e. High mount inner stop lamp in their every model even in base ones (City) Now in 5th gen City High mount stop lamp was offered in 2011 after 02 years of launch boot inner light, chromed exhaust muffler rear seat arm rest and stop lamp which were there in all 04th gen City and these were offered as a very big achievement.Civic VTi upon launch (1996) used to came with Dunlop tires and the cost of car was less than 900k now after 15 years at the price of 2 million plus we are getting euro stars.

The Civic used to come with bridgestones till 08.

Internationally car prices are rising but at the same time they are increasing quality and safety and emission standards.
Here is Pak prices are rising while quality is being downgraded. And if that wasnt enough now they are removing items from the cars, like defogger and ac vents.

they've removed whatever they can, managed to make 100% of the car in PK and still double the price,... really makes you wonder what they hel they are doing, and why people are still buying them????

of course they keep fooling every potential buyer (fool) by saying that foreign currencies are fluctuating etc.

my question is that if after decades of total market protection from imports if the local idiots can't make a decent car at a decent rate why don't they just die a decent death (close down) and let us have safer & cheaper imports????

mate you forgot that this is Pakistan - people are like "chicken" they will cluck to anything that the next chicken is pecking on, hence Mehran will always be sold by the highest number. Its part and parcel of having low esteem and lowly business practice - Come over to Karachi and see how much communism there is in Pak Suzuki Motors. Its like a russian gulag.

The reason to why they still make it - BECAUSE OUR PEOPLE LINE UP by the thousands to buy it - same as why is Pizza hut Pizza so expensive in Pakistan - people think of it as show-off food and the franchise owners "Habib" also know this and have openly declared that they will fleece all the money they can on this reason, because there is no functional body like a BBB in Pakistan.

The Khybers that came before 1995~96 used to have pair of speakers in the dashboard plus a pair of side mirrors and horns.
The 1996 onwards models didnt have left side mirror, a single horn and no speakers in the dash.

Khyber before 95 use to have 4 speakers, 2 front and 2 rear. The rear ones were not on phatta but on side walls of boot under plastic coverings.

Dear the cig. lighter in alto (pak) is at that pathetic place b.coz on its orignal position they have 2 mount the choke knob(actual car is designed only for auto chokes engine but our beloved Pak Suzuki have put a 1980 engine in it just to keep its price higher than mehran.

we cannot just stop it from selling by just abusing it over internet .. guess what my neighbor has bought a Brand New Mehran on cash and when i inquired about this insanity of his he said "I preferred it over Cultus even, because its simpler and mechanics are easily available for it everywhere" ..... so this is the truth..such humanoids still exist who want to live in the past (i.e. 1980s era) when the Mehran was launched !

If u ppl have observed. 2001-2004 models had very comfortable seats. They were soft.
Sit in a 2011 mehran and cultus. It feels like you are sitting on a wood... Extremely hard.

my home never had a mehran - and probably never will, there was a khyber though but it required frequent maintenance if used everyday like other cars - which in my house is considered to be EXPENSIVE - a car is a machine for transport, what good is it if it spends time under tools often having parts replaced/adjusted.

Im not super rich, spending galore etc. The last car I owned in Khi had a buy/repair to run first time cost of Rs 120,000/- And it used to get 22 to 24 km/lit. TALK ABOUT CHEAP to boot... (H)

sorry, i've never owned a mehran. i've had a khyber in the past and it was an audi when compared to the replacement cr@p being sold by suzuki nowdays...

i'm not bashing suzuki as such, they used to be all about value for money,.. sadly all the new stuff they are offering is overpriced & under-specc'd sh*t.

Totaly agree with chicken part I rememebr when swift was launched by Suzuki one of the decent car's they ever introduced and it was for 950k I asked one of my friend to go for it he refused ka yaar market nahi hai parts nahi hai blah blah Now that same guy after seeing people buying swift bought it for 1150k and hes happy

firstly I used the word "almost everyone", not "everyone" in particular, and I never mentioned "seems to be against Mehran".... i said "seems to be against Suzuki" ... and you see most of us have or had kept Suzuki as well and yet we are cursing it here on the internet... that was interesting for me !

and as far as OVERPRICING is concerned, thats not only with Suzuki my friends, do you think XLI with cheap plastic dashboard inside without Power Windows worth this much as they are charging ? so basically everybody is overcharging, then why Suzuki should be left behind

by the way i own a Cultus VXRi 2007 model and a Khyber 2000 model, and i don't feel ashamed of owning a Suzuki at all.... In fact, they have Alhamdulillah never ever given me trouble of any sort in the past years till yet ... so i have no doubts about their quality in my mind at least !
