Very well said. The government's job is to provide basic needs such as water, electricity, security, food, commerce, means of communication and transportation, sewage.
To make life interesting and comfortable is the private individual's job. Now how he does that matters to the government. That is, does the indulgence of that particular 'happy' activity places the lives of other individuals under threat or not.
You might have seen 'sheesha smoking' been banned in some places. Whereas initially it was seen as something very harmless, hip and non-dangerous. Now after ten or so years a consensus has been reached that even though the content of nicotine is low; but over a certain period of time the body develops an immunity to that low dose. So then you need something with a slightly higher dose to get that same kick to start working. It is then that people start migrating towards low end cigarettes and finally to hard brands. By then they cannot do anything about it because over a long period of time they have themselves conditioned their bodies to depend on the chemicals released from cigarette smoking to jump start their lives. Now if they had spent all this time and money in say, hiking, jogging, joining a gym or swimming; forty years from now compared to their smoking compatriots they would be living a much healthier and disease free lifestyle. The age old adage, health is wealth, comes to mind. But since they did not

Street racing is in its infancy right now and if it is not given proper direction at this stage, the future generation of Pakistani drivers are going to be very rash, abusive and wild.

Instead of labeling Wahab as a heretic, look into his proposal. See if it can be worked out or not. And if not then what other alternative solution can be looked into which can move these street racers and mentality out of the general publics way. Because not everyone is like you. But your decisions influence those with weak minds. And in a way you are responsible for the behavior of those people whom you've never met but are being influenced by your words. So, choose your words wisely.
Instead of ruining the national character try spending some time in building it.
