I was planning to put in some SPL in my car. Im in Korea BTW, things are expensive here. Anyways I have a confusion.
In my budget I was planning these setups.
SETUP 1:-
Soundstream rf 60c components. (1w/1m@ 90dB) 180 watt each side
Pioneer ts-w3002d2 (1w/1m@ 90dB) 1000 watts
A suitable 2 channel amp and one monoblock for the sub.
SETUP 2:-
Focal 165 krx3 (2.83v/1m @93 dB) 100 watt each
pioneer w12prs (1w/1m @92 dB) 300 watts
Any suitable 4 channel bridgeable amp.
Dilemma:-
Both setups cost me equally here, but im interesed in SPL values.
With setup 1, components give out 118dB SPL and sub gives 120dB SPL.
With setup 2, components give out 116dB SPL and sub gives 117dB SPL. {As per my calculations, correct me if im wrong.}
Price is same, SPLs are almost same but the second setup consumes wayy less power.
Please suggest which way to go... anyone with only one w12prs has compared it to 3002d2 or similar 1000 watt sub???
One more thing... should I install components in doors or back panel. By this I mean do components need closed area like a box at their back?
