any reviews on this flash for my d5100? should be bought considering its low cost and will it be compatible with my dslr if i use it on a stand, like away from the camera, instead of 'on' the flash mount....

Ideally you should get Nikon's; if not then go with Nissin...Nissin's 866 and even 622 have good reviews; Nissin flashes do the i-TTL (automagic thing), have option to update firmwares and have much better build quality than Yongnuo's

For off camera; all flashes work in manual mode; for the i-TTL thing; I guess only Nikon flash with Nikon transmittor will work. For Manual; you will need Remote Trigger; Yongnuo's RF 603/602s have good reviews and you should be able to find them in local market!

If I have bought a D7ooo body then I could not buy a lens in my budget so I planned to get a lens first then make some money from it:P and then upgrade the body Insha'Allah !

MashAllah. Congrats. great thinking. I too will get a f1.8 soon. and my aim is to get good quality lens before i get a decent body. for f1.8 prime i have 2 options DX is simple prime with no autofocus (9k) but FX Nikkor f1.8 is with autofocus and is the best quality prime in 1.8 (26k) and will greatly compliment to the lens dept for future investments...

do share its reviews, some picturs of the lens itself and the results...

I prefer 35mm prime over 50mm because 35mm is wider than 50mm so you can crop the image of 35mm but what will you do if the object does not fit in the frame of 50mm.

35mm AF-S is for Rs. 23000.
