Brother which ever variant you choose, if possible, try to get it personally imported from Japan (as I did in case of my Vitz). If buying from market, always get auction sheet verified, but still, cars in markets / showrooms cannot be 100% trusted.
Try to get in touch with some reliable importer (I can also give you some contact details), handle all the payment by yourself, and give commission to the importer in the end, when you take custody of your car. However, it will have to be checked that whether current conditions and S.R.O.s allow easy import of JDMs or not? As imports have almost halted.
Brother I myself imported 4.5 Grade Vitz, and now I am repenting (as no one is willing to buy it as per its condition and price. All believe that car is accidental and repaired here, and I am demanding too much. Unfortunately, this is the mentality of people here, which can't be changed, and nothing can be done about it, and ye gund karnay mein 99% role importers ka hai, jo major accidental cars mungwa k, repair kar k sale kartay rahay hain. Because of all this fuss, even a "Gem" is taken as "junk")
If I had to choose now, and same I would recommend to you, go for "Market Ki Car", if you are resale conscious. Market make, model, model year, color, registration city, etc.
I have now come to the conclusion that even R / RA grade cars are good enough, provided they are 100% major non-accidental, air bags / safety systems not deployed, and just involving replacement of minor body parts, like fenders, bumpers, etc. (marked with "XX" on auction sheet). For reference you may have a look at following auction sheets to know better:
(Right fender, right driver side door, right passenger side door were damaged / scratched, and already replaced. Do not need any action on part of buyer. vehicle sold for 379,000 Yen)
(Rear hatch and rear bumper replaced. Vehicle sold for 560,000 Yen. MODA package)
And many others, etc.
Do not buy any car which has "X" mentioned in it (X means part is broken and needs repair / replacement by the buyer. XX means part was damaged, and has already been replaced / repaired. It does not need any action on part of potential buyer!) Also do not buy a car in which front bumper and bonnet both have been replaced. It might be major accident car.
Since auction sheets are in Japanese language, and if one can't understand it, or make it translated in English, then one needs to be extra careful.
