What a co-incident brother. I was too in same range of budget and have same options to choose from Vitz, Cultus, Alto, Passo, Mira, Zest, etc.
But I google out the specifications of each car and studied in detail the plus points & negative points as well.
I drove 1 full day each Vitz, Cultus, Zest & XLI. But finally I choose ?PASSO? (2008)
Passo has all the plus points, excellent fuel efficiency, nice pickup, A/C like refrigerator, wide enough to site comfortably, and specially the empty space it has between two front seats. Wow?. Everything is good, perfect, excellent & nice.
While studying Passo, many people have only same drawback i-e its Shape. And frankly am fully satisfied with its shape also. And when I look them at road, I found their shape even quite matured as compared with Vitz specially. Or perhaps am using it for office and it looks more nice to use it for office instead of Vitz.
I wish you all the best with your Passo. ?Congratulations? !! and here are my some suggestions for you.
- Firstly, plz use CVT Gear oil which is very very important. The original ?Gear Oil? is
TOYOTA CVT FLUID TC, 4L
Category: Transmission Fluid.
Product Name: TOYOTA CVT FLUID TC
Part No: 08886-02105 ==> (V. V. Important).
Type: fully-synthetic
Manufacturer: Exxon Mobil Japan
Volume: 4L
Be careful to choose the exact code of this oil. Because few oils are available with code ending with 08886-02305 or 08886-02805 etc. But don?t confuse with them and always use 08886-02105. Its bit expensive, but very very helpful for the good health of your car.
- Engine Oil. The genuine & recommended Engine oil for Passo is 10-30. I?ve used it and its good. But frankly, its very thin (like water). Well according to the temperatures in Japan this oil is very good. But in Pakistan, we have usually high & quite hot temperatures. So I advise to use little thicker oil. 10-40 or 20-50. Majority of the users using Zic A+, Zic OW, Toyota?s Petron (improved grade oil), Total?s engine oil, etc. etc.
I will not say these oils are not good. All the oils are OK. But I am personally satisfied with Original Japanese Motor Oil of Toyota that comes in ?Tin Packing of 4L?. People may complain that they have already tried this oil and it has ?low pick up?.
But I would say ?Low pick up is good for Engine?s health?. It keeps your fuel consumption from good to Excellent.
Firstly I used Toyota?s 20-50 Petron. This oil is expensive. But frankly not good enough for engine?s health. My car?s engine?s voice was high with this oil. And it annoys me !!
Secondly, I used Zic A+. Its good oil too, but I found that my car is not old enough to use such oils.
Then I used Zic OW, its quite thin oil. Perhaps it was 0-20 or 5-20. But was quite thin.
Then I used Toyota?s Original Japanese Motor Oil which comes in Tin Packing of 4 liter. It is low viscosity (thin oil, 10-30). Its pick up is low specially when A/C is on. But I am very very satisfied with it. Because it keeps the engine?s voice down and gives very good mileage too. Now my passo doing 13 Km/L within City with A/C on and on long route it gives 17~18 Km/L with A/C on.
Without A/C, it gives 15 Km/L within City and 21 Km on high way. But on the highway (M2) I don?t drive it over 100 Km/h. Because it gives the best mileage when driving 90~100 km/h.
There is a small digital meter alongwith its speedometer. It gives you the fuel consumption of every second while you are driving. So you can decide by yourself while driving that at what speed your car is happy.
