PC vs Xbox 360 vs PS3

I have to disagree on this... Seems like you didn't use any ultimate gaming pc.

Just a core i series processor, nvidia board and gpu, 4 gig ram etc doesn't mean a gaming pc.

the guy is new to games and never really loved them in the first place...
on a computer the amount of time and money it takes to play games is so much that he'll simply get bored.....PC is NOT AT ALL plug and play......
and he doesnt want to play like professionals, he doesnt want to make an earning from gaming competitions , he just wants to plug and play for a couple of hrs and leave...and not 24/7 gaming.....
that is why im recommending him a xbox360....360 games are available everywhere. ps3 games may not be...

in short he's not the ultimate gamer type ur confusing with...ultimate gamers are addicts, from wat i've read on the thread, it seems he's not..., hence im recomending simple 360...

the addition of DRM and measures to kill piracy is becoming a head ache for the average gamer

gone r the days of just copy pasting "Crack" file
these days theres a whole list of **** u need to do inorder to run a game -.-

PS3 once hacked is a breeze since u just rip the games to ur harddisk and forget about the disk
its useful if u got friends who own Retail Blu Ray games on PS3

infront of Forza3 or Granturismo 5 u will FORGET NFS trust me on this

on PC u will get Call of Duty
on 360 u will get Call of Duty + Halo 3 /Reach + Gears of War 1 /2 /3
on PS3 u will get Call of Duty + Killzone 2/3 + Resistance + MGS4

man i didnt add FPS in the list because we havent had any PC exclusive FPS since HalfLife2 which was also ported to Consoles -.-
Consoles did get some very successful FPS particularly Killzone2/3 and Halo3/Reach

RTS and MMO are still 2 genres that PC holds superiority over

but only Blizzard is left on PC since even Valve went Multiplat

IGN Gamespot and many other sites have done comparisons and 360 is slightly ahead
ive also seen side by side comparison of COD4 / Fifa / Resident Evil 5 on both consoles

and there is a very good reason behind it
Third Party studios do not spend the time and resources coding games for PS3
since PS3 uses a completely extra ordinary architecture in the form of its Cell Processor

360 on the other hand is a pure PC with a 3 Core Processor / Ati Radeon X1800XT and porting games on it is much more easier than on PS3

Sony First party developers do indeed spend the resources to design the game around the cell processor and Killzone 3 / Gran Turismo 5 / Unchartered 2 look so damn good

Oh ok I didn't know that you were specifically talking about the exclusive releases. But still there are some good titles that are/were exclusive for PC like Battlefield Play4Free, Diablo III and Star Wars: The Old Republic etc.

But what I don't understand is why bother for exclusive titles? As long as one is getting a multiplat title for his need, it should be good enough to go.

And if someone only likes the exclusive titles then he must go for PS3, as you mentioned in you post that PS3 uses a completely extra ordinary architecture in the form of its Cell Processor; So every time an exclusive title comes out for PS3 it should be great in all ways.

the Exclusive thing goes both ways
with Xbox360 or PS3 one can get all the benefits of Multiplatform games in addition to their line up of great exclusive titles

on PC u mentioned DiabloIII which is gonna be an excellent game
also Starcraft2 released in 2010 is arguably the best RTS of the decade
but most of our average gamers do not even know about these games

but Gears of War series on 360 or Killzone/MGS4 on PS3 will arouse interest in ur average gamer

im just saying Exclusives r an added benefit which consoles offer

and yes the Exclusives on PS3 and the amount of First Party support Sony has is an edge the PS3 has over the 360

Yes you are right with this, these games need the gamer to be on the next step to average.

I disagree that PC has lost the incentive but yeah PC gaming has no future until we see bundle of big hits like Diablo III and Starcraft2 exclusive for PC. Which is not gonna happen since the exclusives for PS3 and XBOX 360 are somehow sponsored by Sony and Microsoft to maintain the players' interest else they'll be doomed. Contrary to that MS is not gonna spend for exclusives for Windows since they know in any case the developers have to issue titles for PC.

guys there was a review on pc vs xbox vs ps3 i saw the pc won and it was using a core 2 quad and a asus gtx280 after that i am as pumped as shoemaker is for the new ferrari

and i know sme of members here will say u an get corei5 in this range but the thing is

core 2 quad is best it matches core i7 becoz all the i processors i.e i5,i3,i4 have threads in them while core2quad has 4 solid cores\

and in gaming this computer will match all the consoles and beat them easily

1 more thing is games do not sell on PC due to the amount of Piracy so developers do spend the resources for tailoring games exclusively for PC

Starcraft2 and Diablo3 r by far the only exception as SC2 has outsold majority of PS3 titles since its release
and Diablo3 will no doubt sell decently

Piracy is there on Consoles aswell but regardless the sales of Retail games on both 360 and PS3 is too good to pass up
Crysis 2 went multiplat solely for this reason

a Core2Duo PC with GTX260 / HD4890 GPU is gonna out perform the PS3 and 360 in Graphics

but comparing Games for Games which u r going to play the PC does not have much to offer
believe me u will be missing out on tons of games by opting for a PC
