Well guys as some of you know I bought much loved Gucci Oud from Alfatah few days ago. The moment i sprayed it on my skin i felt it was diluted. Online reviews stated that it lasts more than 10 hours and has beast projection. well none of that was true for my bottle of Gucci oud. i suspected it was a fake. i searched online and inspected bottle carefully but could not find a clue except the fragrance did not last more than 3 hours.

I contacted @Bad_Cheetah and met him. He tested my bottle and concurred that something was fishy about the fragrance though bottle looked just right. He was kind enough to take me to Enem store where we tested Gucci oud which smelled considerably better than the perfume i had bought.

Long story short i went back to alfatah and asked them that it is fake. they disagreed but were kind enough to show me a bottle which was recent production of 2016. the smell was still diluted but very similar to original I was convinced that probably i got a faulty batch. then i looked at the bottle which was quite rough and said the bottle is not right. they said apka wahem hai. then at the very moment the bottle leaked right at the sprayer. GUYS ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THAT ORIGINAL BOTTLE OF SUCH PRESTIGIOUS BRANDS CAN NEVER EVER LEAK. I was convinced that they Gucci oud they have a fake or refilled one. i asked them to bet on this. there were bunch of customers around so the perfume guy did not argue with me and gave me the return voucher of the same amount.

After all this following is my conclusion.
+ A VERY HIGH INDO-PAK NUKE WAR LEVEL CAUTION IS ADVISED WHILE BUYING PERFUMES AT ALFATAH!
+ Never buy if someone is selling a perfume at considerably lower rate than international price; Gucci oud official price of 75 ml is 140 dollars. they are selling at half the price. how?
+ If you smell the perfume is diluted then it is probably refilled. I talked to a refill guy today and he said that we buy original perfumes and then dilute them and refill the bottles and sell them so the smell is always guaranteed same.
+ If you spray perfume and you get pungent smell of alcohol then its is definitely fake.
+ Either Alfatah is deliberately selling fakes or they are being made fool by there supply chain guys. Anyways If you go back a few posts you will find my post that says when i tested Dior Suvage at Alfatah it had strong pungent alcohol smell in the beginning. So that one is also fake.

Glad that you got the money back buddy. Otherwise it would have been a very sour buy.
That said, you are right, price difference makes a lot of sense.

Also such big business chains would NEVER let any supplier make a fool out of them without them knowing, it is a deliberate act in my opinion.
Aewin thori na old Alfatah ko agg lag jati aur insurance claim hojata once the new store in opened. No one is pious, sab fraudsters hein.

Al Fateh is selling fakes, a few days ago I went to buy Issey Miyake and the price he told me was 3800 for 100ml and 4400 for 125ml, I was very surprised as Enem was selling it for 5000+ so how was this so cheap. I know this scents notes very clearly as I have been using it as a second for 5-6 years. My second experience is, I went to Al Fateh to buy Narciso Rodriguez, it has been 1 year and the insides have started to peel off, whereas my friend who had it used it for 3 years and not a single peel off. Original perfume bottles insides do not start to peel off.

Kindly suggest me good original perfume shops, I was thinking of ordering it of Amazon US, but first I will try local if any shop is reliable.
There is a new shop in Emporium but still have my doubts. Enem is also full of doubts.

I have a 4 year old bottle of Narciso and it still looks brand new. You are right, that might actually indicate a fake bottle. In Pakistan it is indeed very difficult to get your hands on authentic colognes.

So I have read through this thread and have decided that I am going to order these sets of 5 Mini Collection bottles

had a similar experience with Gucci by Gucci. costed 5.2K from D watson F10 Islamabad. Never lasted more than 2-3 hours. was amazed however never had the time or mind to argue with them. as a result decided not to buy it again :(. even tough i love the smell. but .....
