Hi, since you are driving Alto Ags, please let me know how can I reduce the engine sound coming into my cabin. Will soundproofing work to reduce this? Have you tried adding a sheet on the inner side of your bonnet or any of your friends added the sound damping sheets in the doors for this purpse? Any help in this regard will be appreciated. Thank you!

I am using the car as it came from factory I.e. without doing anything to reduce the engine noise. I thought of doing some sound deadening by using the sheets available in market, but didn't do anything due to laziness.

It would be good to learn from experience of someone who has done this and may be serve as inspiration

the results were not up to the mark at all, the car gave average of max 12 kmpl in city driving with light foot and not getting stuck in traffic jams. Similarly with the AC off and trying to save every drop of fuel in the car the wouldn't give anything above 14 - 15 kmpl.

Apologies for bumping up an old post. I do not own a WagonR but I have heard mixed reviews, specially from a large pool of Uber drivers when I was using Uber frequently. Some report getting good mileage (15+ with AC) and some report getting low mileage like 11-12.5 (with AC), I am not sure what the reason is, but those getting low mileage also used to tell me that they purchased WagonR based on mileage reported by their friends/relatives. So I am asking because someone might have an insight into whats happening. I mean it is quite a big difference.

In my opinion Wagon R can go upto 15+ kmpl if the road and traffic conditions are a bit more favourable as compared to Khi.

The kind of corrupt and incompetent government we Karachites have, very soon we will all need to buy SUVs for city driving. The condition of roads and poor traffic management in Karachi results in very poor driving conditions hence the poor fuel average.

AGS Alto - if I would you, I would go for 2019-2020 newer local made model instead of 2014.

Haven't kept Mira so Can't comment about that but in general there are pros and cons for both the local and imports. It is the choice of the buyer to see what suits him better.

well i visited suzuki showroom and i was comparing cultus with wagon r and there was also an alto so we sat in it. What I found was that there was a lot of leg room in the rear. 4 persons can very very easily sit in it.

In the cultus the leg room was low as compared to wagon r. there is also a hump in the middle which also acts to reduce the leg room in the cultus.

I wanted to buy cultus because of its better fuel average but now I may have to buy wagon r just because of this leg room point

yes well but it looks very unimpressive. like a box. Also its body is very very weak . And because it does not have any presence, I am unable to buy it.

sir i believe everything done with alto has single purpose, and everything u see is shouting only one moto ' fuel economy '...

BTW its the same shape which is being made elsewhere, i.e Japan as JDM...

Very wise decision. My Alto is now 26k kms driven and it has proven itself to me.

Alto is a very comprehensive package for City use. Fuel efficiency, decent interior and no clutch......

constantly getting 15.5 km/liter compared to civics 9-10km/liter

15.5 kmpl means you are pushing the 660 cc baby hard...... Managing 18 kmpl in city with this car is an easy task.
