Whatever happened could have been easily avoided had there not been these "tamashgeen" who are literally a cancer of our society. Any sane person would've done the same, running away from the mess to save your family, and during the process running down some people is inevitable, not good or ideal, but unavoidable.
I really wonder what the hell was the army there for? They could've easily scattered away the waili awaam and settled the matter amicably.
In our country, the richest can get away with anything because they have truckloads of money while these poor people can also get away with anything because "ghareeb hain becharay" as it is usually said when they cause a mess.

I now use this line against these bikers etc when they are trying to fool around my car. I say it to them loud and clear that "tum log pehlay beghairti kartay ho phir ghareeb ban jatay ho". This is mean on many levels but serves the purpose quite well.

The driver clearly panicked by looking at the enraged crowd. Most of the people standing there don't give a damn what the driver had done or was doing. They were simply there to spark the situation and then damage the car and make a scene. I have seen such people in action and that's all they ever do. Forgive me for saying this but what has the car got to do anything with the incident. It's the driver. Bash him not the car. All of this could have easily been avoided if the Army and police had took control of the situation rather then the crowd.

I can see some people pushing and misbehaving with the ladies. Plus as mentioned, tamashaais were provoking the driver and I can see Army personnel with traffic police.
Why weren't they doing anything? They could have controlled the situation, who doesn't listen to army in Pakistan?

The guy in car should have given him 10-20 rupees.Am sure he wouldn't have gotten poor.Feel sorry for the lady and the old man.These spectators are the real reason for these fights.Am sure many brothers would have popped up for that women.

If there are 5 signals on your daily route then can you give 10-20 Rs at every signal everyday?
This is not a solution.
These kids touch your car without your permission, put scratches on your car's windscreen and then they demand money for it.
There are incidents in which they put scratches on car's paint when the driver didn't give them money.
A few year ago there was a beggar squad who used to catch such beggars. That squad is needed again.

In my view, this kind of issue could have been prevented if only people were 'honest' about there actions regarding the situation.

About the Window washing boy concept, I am also convinced to believe that they should not be given money. A busy signal is not a place for 'little boys' to earn money, even if they are cleaning a completely dirty window.
Unless there is an approved 'procedure' for adult people to give such Services on roads, these acts should be discouraged.

It is good to help people, but the Rules regulations do come first, and one must have strong reasons to make exceptions.
Child labour is already an unlawful thing, and I think a 'road' is not a place for children to do services.

First of all I feel sorry for old man.
But the main thing is what he is doing near the car. The driver police and army can settle the matter. This old man was just bashing for as its his car without knowing any single thing.

But for this incident driver should be punished to death.

@ slakr...Brother What ever has happened cannot be justified but one should also consider that it is not the matter of 10 20 rs but the real problems are the goons and mafias that are fed on this charity money usually ending up growing in bigger problems and mafias ultimately creating much more mess in the society.They usually buy these children after paying some money to their parents, would you support them with you hard earned money so that they can buy more such children worsening the already present problems of the country. It has become a common behavior of these mafias.At signals they would clean your car by force, at markets they would force you to pay illegal parking charges etc so would you justify the proliferation of such mafias.

The takings for one day, at one traffic light:

12 hrs x 60 mins x 2 changes of lights per minute x 3 cars x Rs 10 = 43,200. Per day.

Annual income = 43,200 x 300 days (allowing for vacations) = 12,960,000. Tax-free.

Not bad.

These are some situations when a person needs support. Not everyone has excellent communication skills and strong nerves to deal with the consequences of retaliation with these people.

I think there is a big space for new and improve duties for Traffic police, for example: in the driving test, they can try asking people about Traffic scenarios ( like road rage incidents ).

Although, people may find 'knowledge' based tests to be useless, but these things helps. For example: the use of Seatbelts, generally people who have no knowledge about the reason for seat belt would ignore it, whereas people who have watch some online 'crash tests' would be much more convinced to use seat belts.

Firstly, the state needs to do something about beggars. They should be reformed, placed in foster care or homes.

People should be made aware that no matter how good their intentions are, if you break the law, you will go to jail.

Law Enforcement/Army should be taught how to deal with situations, crowd control & situational awareness.

This was a complete breakdown of law, humanity & everything which can be considered rational.
