You can easily get 13-15 in city and 16-18 on long. Even if you keep flooring the car all the time, you'd get 11. It has an amazing fuel average. IDK anyone who is getting less than 10.

You're not making the point you think you are. BMWs are notorious for breaking down and being expensive to maintain, which is why no one recommends them using as daily drivers.

This Peugeot 2008 is a city car. If it's too delicate, requires special oil, craps out under ankle deep water, then it's no wonder it hasn't been popular despite on paper being a fantastic car.

I am exactly trying to prove you that premium vehicles require extra care. Mehrans don'. Nothing happens in ankle deep water, as long as its exhausts are outside of the water. And despite of all the cons, it is the highest selling B/B+ segment car in the country. Compare its sales or on road presence to HR-V, Stonic, MG ZS, Tiggo 4. You will get to know whether the car is popular or not. The segment itself isn't popular but 2008 is its most popular car.

bro peugeuot is not a premium vehicle by any stretch of imagination. An ordinary day to day car that's less in demand than others normally around the globe, not just Pak.. better competitors are available eg new HRV hybrid.

Whilst the 2008 may not be a premium vehicle (it truly is not one), it requires premium vehicle extra care. I would however put it in a category that feels more premium than the other competitors; HR-V, Stonic and Tiggo 4. For someone that does not want to deal with the premium vehicle care, I think the HRV hybrid is a better option. Let's see what the market will be like, I'm rooting for the 2008 though

Leaving a quick update here.

Went today to Peugeot Service center to replace the headlamp level switch as it was not working, was replaced in 1 day. During my visit I asked about the belt change cost and has it been done on any car yet?, the rep mentioned that several cars have had the replacement. Max serviced car he has seen is at 150k KMs. The price of full replacement kit for wet belt is 95k + 30-35k labor. But you also have the option for belt only which is 35k + same labor cost (30-35k).

Any idea how many cars hydrolocked?
This issue is highlighted all the time yet i have not seen any hydrolocked Peugeots except for one which was widely reported and perhaps the only one????? As per my information the owner drove it in exceptionally deep urban flooding environment and i am guessing he didn't really mechanically understand what could happen with the car. I have seen more hydrolocked corolla and civics in Lahore's rain. Not saying that peugeot is virtually free of this thing. It would definitely hydrolock if you drive in waters deep enough. Check any user manual of any car brand and they all specifically highlight not to drive in stagnant waters which reach the lower edges of the car as they also account for waves made by other vehicles on the road in such situations. By your theory there should be a scrapyard full of Peugeots somewhere in pakistan by now because monsoon is only getting worse every year

Anyways on a lighter note absolutely love these banger videos coming out of UK recently where people are trying their luck on crossing flooded roads. Its a hydrolock heaven

I wanted to check if anyone has heard of any more Peugeots being affected by the hydrolock issue in the recent monsoon season.

I live in Karachi and I did see one Peugeot parked in water which appeared to be around 1 foot in depth to me.

I was so close to getting this vehicle but now I am very concerned...

Does anyone know if such water damage would be covered by a comprehensive insurance policy?

Yes water damage aka flooding is fully covered under comprehensive insurance.

Car being stopped as a precaution when in water and getting hydrolocked are 2 different things. When car stops while driving in water, one should never try to turn it on and you will never face hydrolock issues.
