Is Allure a good buy over HS? Need honest and expert opinions.

HS is much superior in this range if car is pristine. However HS is a gas guzzler

Got delivery of Allure in white 2 days ago. God, this car is awesome. So many features that were not even advertised:

• All 4 windows are one touch
• You can change color of instrument panel (not ambient lighting)
• Automatic headlight dipping
• Key-less and touch-less entry / exit (You just come close to the car and it will automatically lock / unlock doors and trunk. You can disable this feature as well)
• Safety radar will detect speed limit signs and display it on the instrument panel

Acceleration is mind-blowing. Can beat any PKDM car (apart from Sorento V6).
Seating is padded so much better than any seats I have sat on. Build quality is second to none.

I am very happy I didn't go with Civic RS / Elantra or any other car in 6 million bracket. Alhamdulilah. The only down-side is it's size given the price but it's perfect for city driving and cruising with 4 people.

Cabin space I feel is a bit compromised but its a lovely car no doubt.

I have started to see this car pop up on Lahori roads now. Most of them in white, then orange.
The more I drive it, the more I am convinced this was the right choice. The view of the hood from driving position gives a large American vehicle vibe. The engine and dual exhaust sound is so much better than the drone and groan of Sportage (I own a Sportage too so I can bash it as much as I want ).

I like it so much so that I have requested my wife to take the Sportage and let me daily drive the 2008.

The actual reason is horrible transmission offered by koreans in Pakistan other than Sorento. Sonata is xli of segmentD in drive.. tuscon sportage too bland to drive. 2008 though small is awesome to drive

Still better than the noisy rubber band affect zero driving pleasure Cvt’s being offered by most and being perceived as something super premium.

Rubber band is long gone.. new cvts are much better with simulated shifts

I’ve driven almost every Cvt offered locally and they’re all the same although the newer ones are slightly more refined. Grande was slightly better but I’d still go with the regular torque converter i.e. A real proper transmission that can handle good torque and would be reliable in the longer run.

2008 has only started making sense after the prices were kept unchanged. There were 2 price hikes after its launch which were not applied. Third one is around the corner. Let see.

Its hand down the best crossover in terms of drive and premium feel but only for those who can live with a contested car. Plus the brand is too risky due to religious sentiments

I don't think those who submit to these 'religious sentiments' will even know a Peugeot from any other car. This country and the authorities care about who brings in the money and investment. All these extremist burning boys have their leashes in the hands of 'authorities'. Lucky has invested massively on this I am sure. You think they don't know of this 'religious sentiment'? Bollocks. This is a moot point.
(P.S. the car is so beautiful I am sure even someone who sets out to burn it will think twice )

Klm has invested very limited on 2008 vs sportage.. peanuts in terms of investment so m not seeing them continuing for long with 2008. Product is really very nice and pricing now feels ok as well

May not be much relatively speaking. But they have a lot riding on their reputation. They've got multiple other vehicles and industries riding on this reputation. They've onboarded dealerships with their promise of commitment. And as we speak everyday there are people buying into this brand. They will not bring in a brand with a ready option to exit. Companies don't work on such short term objectives.
And even if they do let's say among a myriad of stupid reasons - it will not be because of frikkin 'religious sentiment'.

I m talking about the comments i got when i had my test drive.. yar tujhey sharam nhn ai i was like yar ye thinking theek nhn hai. Stonic sorento failed. Sportage on its last breath . 2008 is the only viable option. Sportage murder is being done by her sister tuscon with quick delivery and much superior feel and looks. 2008 is a beauty to drive..but size is attracting less buyers. The drive is too good. I m a sedan guy but 2008 was just too engaging vs fazool tareen 2.0 sportage
