Whats your exact model of g2?. G2 has several variants.

Clearing cache mostly fixes this issue. If it doesn't, then re flash stock recovery.

I posted one or two pages back a rooting link for G2 or use the one posted by versatilegenius, whichever is suitable for your exact model number.

It was showing d802 in settings...it was a 32gb varient used it for only 10mins and keera for g3 rom started and boom

You cannot use g3 rom on g2.

Try going to download mode and flash stock firmware. It will fix everything. But if it doesn't, then follow the link.

I wasn't actually gonna install g3 rom on it bro...i was trying to install cloudy g3 rom for g2...fir that i needed twrp recovery which i think was corrupted and all this $hit happened

@devil33 take your mobile to any cellphone shop, they will reinstall the orignal rom for you in 500-800Rs

Rather than to delete for the file just change the text in the file from false to true and it will start working. I ha e done that on galaxy s5 , note3 and another samsung phone. And it worked on all phones

@ehtesham bhai, i'm trying to install clockworkmod on my t989. after some searching i found that the easiest way is to use odin.

but the tar files i found on xda are old versions of cwm. any way to get a newer tar file?

btw i'm total noob, i just want to run a newer android version on my phone or just get rid of the t mobile junk apps. currently its on jelly bean.

i have made a backup of my files, then done a factory backup + clear cache.

just walk me through

Also post the link of procedure that you are going to follow. In most links, I see incomplete info to flash recovery.

Before following any procedure, first of all

1. install usb drivers for t989 in your pc.

2. enable usb debugging from developer options (in phone settings).

i found a tutorial that rooted using twrp. well it did install twrp, but the root wasn't successful, su wouldn't updated binary. then i tried to go back to stock, but got the wrong file, finally found the stock file and saved my ***.

now to do as you say :P, my q is that how am i supposed to use this img file, i only know of using tar files from odin

the problem is that there are too many fake websites that are probably just to make money, they make it hell to understand the process

Yes, I follow the same method to convert .img to .tar files and it always worked for me. So go ahead.

If it doesn't work, then you can convert yourself now.

okay, so i will use that file to flash cwm, what will be the next step

You are required to keep 'superuser.zip' file in your micro sd card main directly.

If done, then flash recovery.

After sucessful flash, it will reboot and open cwm recovery.

Use option 'choose zip from sd card' and select your superuser.zip file.

Note: any superuser.zip file can be used from internet I.e. supersuser.zip, superSU.zip etc.
