Great coverage! I have to admit that when I saw the Mulsanne the first time, I was a bit "bleagh" but it seems to have grown on me a bit. I still maintain that the Arnage was probably the best looking of the new Bentleys, but this is pretty good as well.
And people say it's overpriced at $380k? Come on guys, this much mechanical artwork is a bargain at the price.
Any thoughts on the Equus? Even though such a large luxo-barge isn't my thing, I can't help wondering if the 4.6 Tau engine could fit in a Genesis Coupé :D. Now that would be fun! I think it was in 2003 or thereabouts that Mitsubishi made a concept Pajero Evolution with the 4.7 Mitsubishi variant of the engine. That would've been fun as well.
Audi A8? As far as looks are concerned, the less said the better. Audi's grill designs have been going steadily ostentatious over the years. A bigger grill does not a flagship make. Then again, I'm sure it's got the most advanced electronics known to man to justify its luxury status and with the 4.2 V8 diesel, I'm sure it'll be able to cross continents with a single fill-up as well.
It's a shame they can't make the Jags as low as they once used to be. What with the crash regs and all, but one photo you took from the rear, actually makes it look a bit like one of the older jags.
Thanks Sami
For me the Mulsanne was a welcome change. The Continental GT has lost its importance to me and I don't really think of it as a Bentley.
People either understand the LFA or they don't. Most people can't get past the Lexus badge. Actually, I myself would have preferred a $380K Toyota :P.
I thought the Equus looked decent and from my experience with the Genesis i'm sure it won't disappoint. I still have to drive the Genesis coupe.
To me the A8 actually looked nice in real life, the initial press pics of the car were unappealing. I guess it was hard to see an improvement over the perfected lines of the previous gen A8.
The Jag XJ is a gorgeous car, the front kinda reminds me of the Maserati QP. The rear has to be seen in person to be appreciated. It is a somewhat complex design which doesn't carry through well in the pics.
