nice cars, especially the GT3 RS.. it tickles all of my fancies good..

one thing which I wanted to mention here and which often beats me is that how ungrateful sometimes americans can be, when they get all of these beautiful cars so cheap..! and yet they would call anything expensive that tips just over the $80k mark.. geee :-# I only wish the GT3 RS could also be had here for about $115k that it sells for in the US...!

dude, you're looking at an ad for an exotic car that was only built in limited numbers of just about 500 or so I guess.. thats not your everyday workhorse like a corolla, mehran or civic..

that is exactly why i dont get it..... whats the use of being amongst the lucky 500 and not even drive it.... no matter how exclusive the car is... it is meant for driving pleasure.... and if you are a collector then why wud u sell it!!

Have you visited O'Gara in BH? A friend of mine sent me a link to their showroom and DAMN! they had cars like Zonda R, Special editions of Veyron, egg Trevita, Reventon and what not. Definitely it has to be the best showroom in USA. I don't know how far BH is from your place.

Btw, I see you're still with the C63!

actually some people buy such rare cars for the mere purpose of earning considerable financial gains on them once they become highly sought after.. they are more of an investment than anything else..the owners never actually intend to use them for their own pleasure..

check out this limited edition FPV.. the owner would have at the very most paid not more than $65k for it in 2007, and see how much is he asking for it now.. and the car only has 98kms on the odo..

I see junee22's point and he's absolutely right. But there're some collectors who are rather investors! means, they don't like to drive much and take the benefit when these becomes antiques. CGT is already one, IMO. I remember watching a video of an old collector who had one of these in Yellow and according to him he drove it only ONCE since it left the dealer's plot.

Btw, more than 1200 CGT were made.

I like your taste in Porsches! However, the Porschephile purist in me will always love the classic 911 over all these variants, save for maybe the 911 Turbo.

PS: I knew about the dealership, I was just clowning around with a bad pun.

Thanks! Unforunately the standard Turbo's just don't do it for me. The 996 Turbo is still fun to drive but the 997 Turbo is too sterile, the 997 Turbo MKII is supposed to be more involving. The 993 Turbo, as sweet as it looks, was a bit too old school for me and not all that exciting. The floor hinged clutch is very awkward, but you do get used to it. Still need to get my hands on a 930 or 964 Turbo 3.6.

Yeah you've got a good point there. All those people in Lahore with their Land Cruisers, etc, etc could be driving some amazing machines in the U.S.

The CGT was probably owned by a speculator or someone who had too many cars. If it was mine, you know what I would do.

Yes i've been to O'Gara...I even posted pics here last year. I knew one of the managers there, he told me to come in and we could take out a Veyron. Too bad I moved back to Michigan back in November.

Symbolic in La Jolla is another nice dealer to visit but Bentley Gold Coast is way up there.

majority of the Americans live poor life. majority cant even afford colleges

not too sure if that could be said for the majority, but the thing is that with a normal university education, I'm sure one can afford these cars easily in the US (car prices in the US tend to be considerably lower than in the Euro zone or other major developed countries for that matter - thanks to their market size and thereby demand).. I'm also sure that majority of the US members here on PW can also afford a nice GT3 RS

dude, the price mentioned up there for the GT3 RS is without any on road costs and dealer delivery (you could add a good $20-25k for a drive away deal).. and dude, how is the system in the US any different than that in Aus..? people have to insure their cars here too and they also have to pay hefty road taxes..

after you have had your university and a secure job, I can assure you that by the time you hit your early-mid 30s, you'll be rolling in a nice as sportscar.. people dont have to pay the price outright, you could always lease the car and follow up on weekly/monthly lease payments... if not a GT3, an M3 or a GTR is not a very far cry..
