So many car are involved, very sad incident Inna lillahe wa inna illahe rajioun. Among injured there must be many people who got several injuries and might not fully recover at all from it till whole of their life. Sometime just a small mistake can result in too much damage. May Allah protect all from these incidents ameen. Isn't there any speed limit for driving under fog ? or same speed limit applies even with this dense fog ? I think it should not be more than 60-80 km/hrs in fog.

Sir even at 60kmph if you hit a stationary car , the impact is alot , especially if one is not in the habbit of wearing seatbelts.
There are youtube videos , you can see the impact even at 40kmph is alot

angreez made video in mph not kmph. soo the video you were refering would be 40 miles not 40 kmph. personally i think its way above 40-60 kmph. not possible such a damage at that speed. do you see some cars are totalled ?

Hmm but that means Fog is so heavy that you can't have time to see tail lights and apply brakes, in that case speed should be more low, best to not to drive at all in this condition.

thats why there is something called defensive driving and using fog lamps (even in the rear) - speeding through fog making contrails doesnt work.

But here peeps dont wear seat belts because they dont like to be "told" what to do.

I once tried explaining to a friend why my old benz had so many red slots for the rear lights since he was very curious. When I told him these included the rear fog lights, he was astounded. Its almost like a new thing for most people when you tell them that rear fog lights also exist since almost every one goes about and slap on some red, purple, blue bulbs into the front fogs and destroy the concept of the fog lights in the first place.

even the Pakistani cultus had rear fog light in it. It was not wired up and neither was the socket there but you could install a bulb if you wanted and wire it up too.

But - Im sure if that caught on we would be seeing HID in brake lamps too - because "fogg laight hai bhai"

fogs are to scatter light at the front of the car - very close to it and very low at the ground. This way you can see the road. The rear fogs are basically bright brake lamps but only on one corner. Their purpose is to mark the car in heavy fog and also mark the road. (mark and light up are not the same)

One thing I fail to grasp is that why people speed up in bad weather conditions. Few weeks ago I was coming from Lahore at night and it was just a thunderstorm there, visibility was very poor, I was unable to see white lines on the road and yet nearly all cars were flying past me even when I touched a 100kph few times.

Never knew cultus had a rear fog light. Where is it.? Are u taking about the reflector type in btween the tail light.?

It wasn't a fog light as such. It was just a space where you could install one yourself if you could be bothered.
