lets take example ,
2009 Mehran comes with
14.4v and 40A alternator which can give power 500+ Watts

In cultus ( i will be bigger like 45A , etc )
all i meant to say , it will consume power 50% from alternator
your alternator will support easily

the CROSS OVER FROM head unit , the Cross over from Amplifier
the combination of both filters will FILTER Highfrequencies easily
there for only pure low frequency to subwoofer (which is only played by subwoofer)

Absolutely correct. I had a KDC-MP239 in my previous car (mehran), and it had low-pass filter Adjustable with 3 levels. My subwoofer used to work best on the lowest frequency, as you said, the subwoofer will work perfect only when it receives the desired signal (low frequencies).

But as I mentioned earlier, keeping the budget low is the only target for now, and living with the factory fitted Head Unit seems perfectly fine.

I've just queried one shop for the subwoofer/amplifier prices

Subwoofer - Pioneer TS-W308D2: Rs.4600/-
Amplifier - Pioneer GM-D7400M: Rs.7400/-

He said GM-D8400M is not available. I'll check it at other shops too, but what do you people think about GM-D7400M, 200W RMS output? Would it be a good idea to drive the subwoofer which is 400W RMS hungry with a 200W RMS input?

Atleast feed it wid 300rms+ that would be gud and safe

400rms continuously with gud bass from pre can reduce life

I searched but couldn't find the new pioneer GM-D8400M anywhere in the market. Finally had to stick with some second hand amplifier but that works great.

Below are the pictures of the subwoofer installed in my cultus above CNG tank.

Woofer enclosure is almost 4~5 inch down the other speakers' board level providing more volume to the enclosure.

Driver's back view is still okay.

Factory fitted speakers are still there but their wires are unplugged and being used to connect Pioneer TS-D6902R speakers.

The used amplifier that I got for Rs.7500 is vtrek AT-2000.1. Below are the specifications that I found on web.

Its a 1-channel mono-block amplifier as I found on web but I don't understand that then why does it have 8 speaker terminals???

You should immediately change your battery,stock 40AH battery & Alternator are not meant to support that Dual voice coil Pioneer Sub & any Mono Class D amp, no matter what is the power rating.

It will serve you initially, because its new but Its better to upgrade, rather straining the battery & alternator and then jump starting it some day on any road side.

Buy at least a 65AH Exide, its a wise investment.

I have a 2005 Civic Exi PROSMATEC, it has a 90AMP alternator plus AGS NS60 (45AH premium Acid battery), when I installed 308D4, and it starts producing some heavy bass my head unit and dashboard lights start to dim, and it was without a mono class D AMP.

your alternator and Acid batteries cant be more then 80% efficient of their rating, and what will happen in summer when you'll be using A/C

Besides, you'll be paying only 2,000-2,500Rs at most after giving your almost new battery, then what's the catch.

Prevention is better then cure.

Agree with you. I've also noticed that the lights get dimmed on each bass note, and it feels like the amplifier really sucks all the power from the battery to produce the desired frequency.

The guy who installed the system told me that the car might give sounds while driving on bumpy roads due to the pressure on the plastic supports on sides..

The pressure should not be too much because the board has a cut-out for sub-woofer enclosure and the enclosure is touching down the CNG tank, which means its weight is affecting tank, not the side supports. Rest could be that the board itself is a bit heavy, putting the pressure on the side supports.

To get rid of any unwanted sounds, I have finally put pieces of foam in between the board and the side supports, which has eliminated such sounds upto ~90%.

i was using the same as u put it in ur car .. the bumps and vibration can make cracks on the plastic .. better put a wood support and keep the plastic intact.. or make sure its not stressing them
