1.5N, will it be the City engine or a different one?

1.5 NA engine is the same that's used in City and BRV. That engine works best only in City. For rest of the vehicles, it's underpowered.

I own honda HR-V launched back in 2016. It has the same engine as of current city and is not underpowered at all. I have been to Kel AJK with 4 adults and lot of luggage. It climbed smoothly upto Pir Chanasi without any hiccups. It seems that CVT box has been tuned to deliver adequate power.

Philippines reviews of base 1.5 cvt says otherwise. Its a not a quick car but it snot underpowered either. Same applies to indonesia

I own BR-V, and I've been to Kalam, Nathigali, Malam Jabba, Patriata, Monal, Highland (this place is after monal called Highland with very difficult steep), and once from Hassan Abdal to Isb via Sohawa road with all the ups and downs.
I would say it's not under powered and won't say its the best, as I was able to climb easily with full load but only once I had to turn off the A/C because I felt that car was slightly struggling that time around we were 5 adults and 4 kids.

The first test I did after 5K KM was to go to Highland with full load and it did it pretty well. So far I am very satisfied with the power, and sorry, no more off-topic

With numbers like this, even in the real world we should expect excellent fuel economy from naturally aspirated 1.5 HRV

I have the NA version here where I get around 14-15 km/l on highway. It's bigger than the variant coming in Pak plus a bigger 2.0 litre engine.

It is a different engine compared to local brv and city. It is the 1.5 used in 7th gen city and new brv abroad. City and brv here have the older sohc 1.5 but the new 1.5 is dohc. The new one also has 2 variants, higher and lower compression ratio is the difference. Lower compression ratio one is used in new city in India and I think we will get that version cause of petrol issues. Lower compression ratio variant has about the same hp and torque as the sohc 1.5, but is a bit more responsive and sounds a lot better like the old proper VTEC honda motors.

But who knows, atlas may manage to put the old sohc 1.5 in hrv to cut costs. But getting anything below 1.5 turbo for hrv and selling at civic prices will be a shame.
