What difference does it make how many dealerships across a country exists? Just make sure there's a dealership near you, that's all that matters, unless you plan to visit every dealer across the whole country.

Alsvin is also an inferior call. You need to sit in it and drive it and you'll know it's a step below City and Yaris.

Please buy gold/dollars instead of cars if you want to invest.

It’s not about investing. Most people want their things to retain value, you don’t own these things for lifetime after all. A $1000 Xiaomi phone depreciates a lot more than an iPhone or a Samsung does even though it probably offers more features. Brand name matters to everyone, try selling a 2008 and then try selling an HRV, we both know which will sell better and quicker.

Again, I said most people, not all people. You might be one of those who don’t care about these things and that’s perfectly fine. I’m not an HRV customer, omission of cruise control is a deal breaker for me. But I think it will sell better than 2008 due to the factors I mentioned previously. Haven’t seen many Peugeots in Lahore. Sadly

An HRV will sell faster but both cars will retain their value. Find me a 2008 that's selling under invoice.

If ads on PW are anything to go by, people are selling (demanding) extremely low mileage registered 2008 Allure at or under invoice price, 0 meter ones have max 1 lac ON, a lot are around 50-60k above invoice. Again, I'm not saying this makes it an inferior car by any means, but this thing matters to a lot of people.

Everyone's complaining about no cruise control and I can't get past the fact that it's got 1500cc natural aspirated engine, no turbo or hybrid. It seems like an under powered car, but people were happy with 1.3 auto gli so they probably will be fine with this too.

Imported vezel was a hit because it had power, fuel economy, JDM build quality and the shashkey. But this has none of that, lol. Great job honda as always ruining a good product. Too little too late.

BTW where do you guys use cruise control. I can't get to use it in peace even on motorway. It's so annoying; there is always a car ahead of you going slow so you have to overtake but the car behind can't wait for you to overtake flashing from 2 miles behind k "hat ja pare, mere age na ayeen" so you end up braking and slowing down to let the idiot behind pass.

So mostly I end up driving without the cruise control. It's a good feature but I wouldn't have missed it here in our country but this engine and the price is probably a deal breaker for me.

I just use the cancel and RES button in those situations. The car then by itself gets up to the already set speed. Plus on specific times and specific motorways, there's very little traffic making cruise control a very good feature to have. Depends on the driver too, some people are never comfortable with cruise control and can't use it on long stretches, but then others like me can't live without it. It also makes it much more bearable to drive for people who travel on motorways very frequently.

Cruise control gives the best fuel economy too as it maintains the speed in the most efficient way possible which is difficult to do manually.

turbo or hybrid ki tu khair koi umeed nahi in sai but atleast give us a better option in N/A which was the earthdreams one ... wohi purana engine jo overstock hoo ga wo idher bhej diya hai.

though I don't expect anything from atlas but I have a feeling that they have reserved hybrid one with honda sensing and will launch it around the launch of local corolla cross.

The engine given is the earth dreams dohc one also used in 7th gen city, not the 1.5 sohc one in the local 6th gen city and brv.

You said retaining value, not giving a profit. If you're buying a car to sell it for a profit, then Suzuki, Toyota and Honda is where you should limit yourself to.

No. It is the same engine in our city just with DOHC. This isn't the earth dreams one found in 7th gen city which has 132 hp and 155 nm torque.

Which engine are you talking about? What's its code number? To my knowledge there's no NA 1.5 engine offered with City or HRV that makes that much power.

The specs of earthdreams L15ZF match exactly with the one being offered in Pak

We have L15ZF. it's not obsolete..infact it's earth dreams series. .... it's just slower vs Turbo standards

Its the same present in 7th gen honda city. The latest. But for the car of this size its a little underwhelming though ivtec makes it up for a little bit.

There’s no comparison between Honda with a network of official dealers + third party shops + scrapyards in the whole country

Versus

Peugeot that just launched. Not available in all cities either.

6.2 million rupees is a huge amount.
For a country where most people earn less than 4 lac rupees per year.

Sure HRV lacks some features like cruise control.

But our market is different.

Resell is a factor but comes later.

it’ll be expensive n difficult to maintain when under your ownership. Imagine Kia is asking people to come in every 3 months for $$$$ to maintain warranty and they have many more service centres as compared to Peugeot . Yeah parent company is same but doesn’t matter.

HRV over Peugeot any day for me.

Yeah if it was US or EU then I would’ve gone for Peugeot if HRV was lacking in features.

Ivtec just make it up for the economy. It's a fine engine for daily driving.... While 2008 drives well, the risk one if taking for 6.2M is way too high.

Both dohc ones come in international 7th gen city depending on the country. Lower fuel quality countries get the 119hp one which has port injection and lowered compression ratio. The 130hp one has direct injection and higher compression ratio. New city in India gets the 119hp one as well. Just checked and yeah, the 119hp one doesn't get the earth dreams moniker.

There is a 130hp one on that same Wikipedia page called l15b which is used in certain market cities and hrvs. It has a higher 11.5:1 compression ratio and direct injection. Countries with better quality fuel get l15b and other countries with worse quality fuel like ours get l15ze or l15zf with 118/119hp. Both are new 1.5 engines from honda.
