According to PW blog, there will be two locally assembled petrol variants.

“The base variant will be called VTi, while the top variant’s name is VTi S. VTi would be 63-65 lacs, VTi S 67 lacs. New HR-V will have same engine as Honda BR-V and Honda City with CVT. Base variant would produce 145hp, top variant 189hp.

Car will only come in two colours, red and metallic silver with two tone pillars and roof. Front grille of VTi variant will be black-coloured while in VTi S, it would be body coloured."

The power figures make this information suspicious (and so does the minor price difference in return for a huge increase in power). The BRV/City engine is good for around 120 hp. It does not make 145 hp in any market around the world, let alone 189hp that the top variant is supposed to have. Even the 1.5 turbo in HRV RS offered in some markets makes only 175-180hp.

That looks worse even when compared to Sportage's cluster which people consider the worst out of all the crossovers offered here.

Do they really think there is any demand for this 118hp stripped down sub compact crossover in this market at ~7mil?
What is Atlas smoking? their planning department needs to be shot in the head.
It needs to undercut sportage and tucson fwd variants by a good 5-7 lacks to even be considered an option.

PW blog had too many wrong information. As already discussed the wrong HP as well as about the engine spec's. The engine is not as of BRV or City but it is different than them. HRV will come in DOC engine where as city and BRV have SOC. Also information of price is not appropriate.

Considering these leaks, I think the price might be in the 5-5.5m region. Otherwise atlas has some real insane morons cause this underpowered, stripped out of even basic features, small sized crossover would for sure not sell for civic/Sportage/tuscon prices. Atlas really be out here thinking they have brand cachet like they're mercedes or something.

atlas does have some morons in the C-segment corporate layer.

first they thought no matter how rubbish they plan, their civvvac will sell. Now, they think no matter how bad they strategize their "premium CUV" will beat the chinese/korean.

i think, let them roll this crap so they pack up by 2023. its long due.

Unfortunately the civic does sell well though. And the hrv is looking to make the civic look like a good value for money car in comparison lol.

But the difference in civic and hrv is that the civics competition, corolla and Elantra are outdated and got pretty close to civic prices, so civic eventually became not that bad of a value for money car. While on the other hand I see absolutely no reason for anyone to buy the hrv with the leaked prices and specs.
