Planing trip to swat and need help,assistance?

Bahrain to kalam is doable on private cars, if you're not too sensitive about it.
I would advise you to park your car At bahrain, some hotels provide you a parking space and you pay them for the parking per day. And till kalam you can go on the Corolla station wagons that'll take you to kalam in under 2 hours, compared to the 4 hours on private car. They seat 6 people in the car and the fare for mingora-kalam was 350. So the whole car, till kalam should cost you no more than 1800/2000.

Many thanks. In fact, I'm planning to visit this area for the first time. I'll travel with family IA in 3rd week of July. Is it suitable keeping in view rain/flood situation etc??? Moroever, can you mark me the travel route, i.e., ISB-Peshawar-Mardan-Swat-Mingora-Bahrain-Kalam-Mahodand lake... is it so or??? Please mention series route as well as places to visit. Regards

As far as the route goes it'll be, lahore-peshawar motorway (M2 & M1), and you'll exit from RASHKAI/MARDAN, follow N45 malakand-dargai-kabal and get onto N95 for Bahrain-kalam. For directions you only can ask anyone at rashkai and malakand for bahrain it's almost a straight road and you'll iA have no problems in that regard.

Well August is the most flood affected month of the year. So there's always a chance of the water level rising. But according to the locals it usually is non catastrophic. The 2010 flood was something unusual, that happens after about 12/15 years. But it's better you consult someone knowledgeable in this regard.

By the grace of Allah we are back safely, I went there on my Alto 2004, before going there i replaced my old general tyres with Yokohama, got my suspension repaired, Radiator Service checked my engine mount and replaced. Everyone knows about weakness of his/her car so please make sure that no weakness is left in your car before you leave for Kalam-Swat.

Wish you good luck brother, we went straight to Kalam (without visiting Malam Jabba) you may hire Parado @ Rs.4000/- to visit Ushu, Glacier, Chashma & Mahudand lake. Driver of Parado was telling that there is another lake after Mahudand but we were not able to travel beyond Mahudand. I don't remember the name of that lake.

Weather is normal in day time cold at night but to take sweaters with you is not recommended, Route already defined by a fellow has to b followed, if you are travelling from lahore, travel through Motorway is recommended and take Rashakai exit. then Mardan-Malakand-Migora by Pass- Madyan-Bahrain-Kalam. It is almost 690KM till Kalam. Your budget for Petrol + toll must be around 9k to 10k both sides.
