Dear brother Saqib,

We (5 people, Corolla GLi, from Lahore) have a plan to visit Swat from 13 Aug to 17 Aug.We intend to reach Swat in the morning on 14th Aug & leave in the morning on 17th Aug. Can you plz suggest a plan for us & help us in booking/reservation etc. What should be our itinerary?

Brother wellcome to swat.As you reach to swat on same day you can visit marghazar.malam jabba or both.after that if you wanna stay for night at mingora or you wanna leave direct for kalam.it will take approximately 5 hours to reach kalam.since you stay at mingora so next day you can plan as go to trout fish park at chail madya.next to behrain and finally kalam.a day would be consumed.stay at kalam and next day visit mahodand as hiring a taxi for mahodand.and than for next days you can plan for utror.gabral.boyun.or laddhu valley.Sorry for booking reservations as i am not doing all these now.

I am planing a swat kalam trip with my family (me, wife, son of 6 year, daughter of 4 years and son of 7 months).
we will go from lahore or gujranwala through local bus service. reach swat on thursday, visit places in swat (Malam jabba fizaghat etc).
on friday move to kalam, visit kalam whole day.
on saturday will go to mahudand lake and back to bahrain or swat.
on sunday will come back to gujranwala.
is it ok plan?? what would be expenses??

is it ok plan?? what would be expenses??[/QUOTE(rest of the plan is ok but would be a bit uncomfortable as you are with family and on local transport and you would be definitely familiar to local transport.any ways from gujranwala i don't know the traveling cost .from lahore to mingora shahid coach 1000.1100 p/h .daewoo 1600 p/h.mingora to fizaghat park rikshaw will get around 100 max from any where in mingora.mingora malam jabba around 100 p/h max on hiace.mingora kalam 210 p/h.room rent depends 2000 on wards . and food expense .food is not much expensive here......

yup it is starting from 3 to 6.maximum of the hotels are reserved by army.rates are approximately 2500 to 3000.

weather is some cold and will be more on mentioned dates.depends if one like to camp at night those will be around ...
jeep rent starts from 3k the rest depends upon your bargain.room rent is from 2500 same as you bargain.specifically have no idea of the mentioned hotel....

- is it safe to travel in Swat during Moharram?
- would Kalam to Kumrat jeep track been open?
- would Swat and Kumrat still be green or will autumn season will take over?

Dear Saqib,
I am planning a trip to Swat valley from Lahore. An educational trip of 5 days. University trip
We are planning to stay for 2 nights in Mingora and travel to Kalam on the 3rd day evening and stay there for a night and visit mahodand ushu etc in the morning and stay back in hotel that night. and then leave for lahore back on the 5th day early morning.

is it suitable? 31 october - 4th November?
Weather?
Do recommend places near mingora for educational purposes.

Plus, please do recommend hotels in Mingora. Crowd is mixed and expecting a very good quality hotel in medium budget.
