Planning Road Trip from Karachi to Murree & Nathiagali

Hopefully doing great, I have just gone through this forum discussion and I found very usefull for our upcoming trip. Our family is planning a road trip from Karachi to Muree from 15th March to 25th March , ( we are 22 family members which also includes 12 minors and rest are adults)
Option No. 1 We are planning to hiring a AC coaster , but I have no idea of rent and other expenses i mean diesel and oil change etc,
Option No. 2 We use our cars ( 1 is cultus , 1 is Honda City, I is Toyota XLI. I is Alto), whats your suggestion for this option

You are open to give any advise option and budget tips

Kindly also advise the best route as we are travelling with kids so we need route where we can find good hotel for night stay,

AC Coaster will definitely be a better option. All the family members can have fun during the journey. And it will also be cheaper if you compare fuel cost of 4 cars as most of the time, you will have to travel on Petrol. You can hire one at around 6000 per day along with the driver. Diesel will be your responsibility and its average would be around 5 km/liter with AC running. As far as route is concerned, you can take N5 from Khi to Lahore and then M2 for Lahore to Rawalpindi. Or you can also take Khi to Khanewal on N5 and then Kbirwala-Jhang-PindiPhattian-M2 route to subtract some 100 kms but I always prefer the throughout N5 route. You can find good hotels in any big city on N5.

Dont even think of road trip during these days with dharna culture around, u will be stuck on road for endless hours cursing yourself why u came out !

I'm sorry @majedkhan but the advice above is totally irrational. One can plan a trip when there is no scheduled dharna/jalsa etc. If some thing unscheduled happens, one can modify the plan accordingly. We can't just hide inside our homes whole year as dharna/jalsa could happen at almost anytime now.

- What are the suggestions and instructions to drive in cold & fogy weather?

- What should be the best place to stay at night during our journey, as we have planned to not to drive during night? We will start our journey very early in the morning from Karachi i.e. 4 am!!
