qwertypoiu there are plots in DHA phase 8 opposite to the ring road which are just one big swamp of water. Is it advisable or even possible to build a home on such type of soil?

I believe Architect can judge better as mostly for every application they modify the layout of the foundations. As per Dha bylaws buyer is responsible for sorting this it seems a risky job. Mostly if plot is too deep people go for building a basement rather then filling it up, in case of this swamp thing maybe it is constructed on pillars which are drilled deep and filled with concrete.

in case of this swamp thing maybe it is constructed on pillars which are drilled deep and filled with concrete.

The question is how is the buyer supposed to know he is building his house on what was previously a swamp? Once it gets covered there's going to be no trace of a swamp. The area I am talking about is quite deep. Marked in red in the image below, it must be about 15-20 feet than ground level.

As my plan was to build in steps.
1- foundations
2- black struckture
3- finshing
4- wood work and appliances
Foundation were laid with stones two feet wide and 7 ft high eith 2.5 ft dig in . 6 inches of concrete base in ground, a column on every 10 feet distance and in every corner of each room.10 inch x18 inch DPC with 6 bars of steel on top of foundation was done. Two feet of bricks on top of DPC (for necessary ground piping)was done.
Fill up was last thing done.
Foundations with my material @ rs 11 per foot.
Black sturctur will be startted in july ( INSHALLAH ) i have quotes of 80rs per foot not including plaster.
With material i have quotes of 900 rs per foot unitll key . ( standerd material)

use compactor for your foundation, it will compact your all area of base,

I have built 3 houses in last 3 years

My experience
Always built house or home with pillars columns and strong beams.
Specially heavy beams on the top of windows and doors
Always appoint a separate person just fir 3 hours every day to continue shower( taraie) the walls and bricks.

Rest u will never ever satisfy

On foundations bitumen is used, its applied to the walls and floor etc. This prevents water seepage and same...
Exact process of applying I am not aware of but the magic ingredient is bitumen.. it looks like Tar but is kind of different scientifically...

Secondly when everything is done then you place a plastic sheet and do kacha floor on that. Due to this Samme if it even occurs does not climb the walls.

Termite proofing is necessary too in this stage and later on it happen when laying kaccha floor

Q how mach steel required for 43 x53 ft roof (lenter). Assuming standard fixing and no beams. Just assumption? How do we calculate it??

I remember when someone i know were building the house and the time they didn't pay attention to contractor and the contractor apparently used all the steel in building walls around the house.Imagine that.At end again when they didn't pay attention, contractor again used wrong cement on the the outside gates.

Personal supervision is the key.Without personal supervision, you will definitely lose.

In my case i am building it with love. I work myself make sure every single detail is taken care of. I lost like 10 kg weight in only foundations. Image how much i will be qhen i will recieve the key???

That is the best thing you can ever do.Just make sure put right things in right places. Well, house building is a hard work but to build a right house,you have do it own with expert help. Sometimes its always good to take other people help because we are all humans and we make mistakes.

Brother you should hire an architect or a deploma holder to supervise this and give you plans. It will specify where to put beams and which gauge steel to use and how to lay it down

I actually calculated in ft3 (cubic feet). As a standard practice it is 3.03 kg/ft3 or 6.75 lbs/ft3
