Point no 1. 2200cc engine is either 3C or 3CT and not a 2L or 2LT.
Point no 2. 2400cc 2L or 2LT has come in toyoya 5 door vehicles weighing around 2400kgs.
Point no 3. Assuming your vehicle, CJ 5 as a soft top veh, it's weight can't be more than 800/ 900 kg's. That's almost one third of a 5 door toyota.
Having said all this, it surely can't be under powered for a CJ, unless you have a very specific, out of the way use. Like rallying/ hard core offroading or may be driving your CJ on a speed of 170/ 180km/ hr which is otherwise never recommended. 5L is going to be heavy and overpowered resulting your vehicle to start digging from the front.
It is always recommended to have a balanced set up, including gear, diffs, tyres etc etc to get the best of results.
My 2 cents.
