I just want to ask you people which tyre size is best for Honda City Idsi 2008. Currently i m using 195/60/R15 Yoko. But its fuel consumption is increased alot. Please help me and tell me what would be the best rim and tyre size as well as tell me which company's tyres are more gripy.... The stock size was 165/80/R13. I have also heard by many people that 185/70/R13 and 165/80/R13 are same in diameter.

Please friends help me............................. i m waiting for your experienced replies. And tell me how much your Idsi is giving you in 1 litre? Mine is giving me 9-10 km in litre with a smooth and carefull drive under 2.5 rpm

I've Honda City 2005 and I bought it brand new. On the very first day I drove it out of the Honda dealership, I immediatley went to the tyre shop and replaced the tyres from 165/80/R13 to 175/65/R14. Since then I've driven the car till now (Thats almost 5 yrs) and 127k KMs on the odo yet the mileage I get is around 13-15Km/Litre within city, while on the motorway, I get about 17-19Km/Litre when speed is maintained around 100-110KM/hr. (Both figures are w/ AC on full time)

Currently I've Michelen Energy Saver Tyres with 40K Kms done with the excellent road grip, soft enough with no noise yet hard enough to still have almost the same tread it had the very first day. I recommend you change the tyre size to the one I'm using as I've a few of my friends upgraded their City's tyres to the same size (175/65/R14) and still getting the same mileage.

Sir thanks alot for telling. i think the size which is mentioned by the company in manual books work best for IDSI. although 165/80/R13 is also mentioned but they dont have any grip. I think i should go with 175/65/R14 as this size is mentioned by honda. And 185/55/R15 is also recommendable bt the ride will be more bumpy and pakistan's roads are not good for this...

Anybody have any idea on installing 185/70/R13? what is its grip? fuel economy? please if somebody using please kindly tell.... i m waiting. and also suggest me best tyres for it.

@doctormarshad I have a city 2007 and am using 185/70/R13. Grip wise they are fine i had no issues with them, they are rotational type tires, as far as the economy is concerned...well maybe since i drive a little fast compared to others...for me its not good. But i am still ok since the stock tires, they even gave away when i was taking the brand new car to home from show room (and was extra careful not to speed). After that the first thing i did was to change the tires.
I would not go for 15 inch rims and the profile of tire will be then thin and car will get too bumpy for our roads.

buddy. go back to 165/80/R13 but stay with Yokohama. or get Yokohama DB with 165/80/R13 and i am sure u will get 15 to 18 km from 1 litres. i have tried it..... i have tried the same in 2005 Exi Prosmetic and she was giving me 14km in a litre within city.....

Do u know every where except in Pakistan the spare wheel tire comes 165/80/R13 and the rest of the tires come 175/65/R14 in Honda IDSI. I searched alot. And I asked many times the difference between 185/70/R13 and 175/65/R14 about its fuel consumption and grip. And also asked which tires brands are best for grip and comfort and fuel consumption? I am still running 195/60/R15 rotational tires on my 2008 MT IDSI. And i am getting less then 10km per liter in city without AC. And i drive under 3rpm. Please i want expert suggestions.

On the manual book of City 2008 idsi the sizes which are mentioned are:

165/80/R13, 175/65/R14, 185/55/R15

common sense. ur concern is economy.

1) switch back to original rim size (13)
2) stick to original size or change to the nearest matching size

p.s i think ur catalytic converter is chocked to.

go for 175/65/R14 GOOD YEAR TYRES...
OTHERWISE HANKOOK IS BEST FOR HONDA CITY... ONE OF MY FRND USING THE 175/65/R14 TYRES... GUD GRIP ON ROAD.... GOOD MILAGE AS WELL... NOW ITS ALL UP TO U...

I suggest u get 175/75/R13!

This is a dig but i'd like to add that this car is basically a honda fit aria and the stock size is 175/65-14.You should do your calculations from a online calculator like this one:
Tire size calculator

The difference should not exceed 3% and i'd recommend to keep it as close as to stock as you possibly can.

Personally i'd go for 185/55-15 which only has a difference of 0.2%

Thinking to change the tyre...Shall I change them to Michelen Energy Saver Tyres (175/65/R14)...I need road grip and fuel economy..!! if u are feel uncomfort or high fuel consumption with using of brand yokohama size 195/60r15 during drivering.
i am suggesting your care correct size, 185/70r13 wich barnd of maxxis pattren map1 owl, 185/70r13 MAP1 owl maxxis . bani fits of using this size of brand is comfortable feel in your driving no sound of tire during driving flax ability, road grip, also low fuel conscription rather using other brand
