I agree most of the cars are fitted with triptronic transmission and almost all the car manufacturers are providing automatic transmission! Tech_wiz bhai, i can assure u that if u bring 2 same cars, one with an auto trans and the other with manual........ the manual will smoke the auto car, without a doubt!
A car is sumthing which u hav total contrl on, not the car having control on u!! FOR EXAMPLE: I have a car with F1 style pedals....while driving at high speeds u cannot DOWNSHIFT the car and u cannot practice engine braking in yr car which is quiet essential, once u are on the track!!! its because the car refuses to downshift wen u are in the REDLINE of the car, it downshifts wen u sum out of that red line though slowng down yr car by BRAKING! HENCE U cannot boost up yr car on corner ViA DOWNSHiFTiNG!
WHERE as in the manual cars u can do nething u like!! Since u hav total control on yr car!
Sure the trip tronic and the Shoft pedals are a grt invention, but sry I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT IT CAN PROVIDE U THE JOY A 3 PEDAL CAR CAN PROVIDE!! These cars are making the art of racing a lot easier which i think it shouldnt be! ONE CAN BLEND INTO a MANUAL car, one can feel oneself and the car AS ONE BODY.... THIS WAS the true art of racing!! Which sadly is disappearing!!

U r rite wen u say that F1 cars are considerd to be the HIGHEST IN PERFORMANCE!! But there is a reason y these cars are fitted with these sort of transmissions!
ITS ALL BECAUSE THESE CARS ARE FAST n QUICK THAT ONE CANNOT USE THE THREE PEDAL SYSTEM ON THE CAR!! the CARS PRODUSE 900+ BHP! ENUFF TO POWER A CAR TO 200kph IN 6 SECS!! How DO U EXPECT TO SHIFT GEARS IS THIS SORT OF KICK ASS ACCELERATION!! U JUST CANNOT SHIFT SO FAST, OR LEAST SO MANY TIMES IN ONE LAP!
SAme IS THE reason WITH DRAGSTERS! THESE CARS ARE FIITED TO NITROUS PUMPS! THEY CAN REACH UPTO GREAT SPEEDS! ONE CAN AGAIN NOT USE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN THESE CARS! IT WOULD BECOME TOO DIFICULT!!
But then the world is not just full of dragsters or cars that give u straight line speeds, or car that produce upto 1000+BHP!!!
Take this porsche for example: The manual version would b a lot better version in terms of PERFORMANCE!!!

I JUST DONT FIND the ART in driving cars without clutch pedals!!! I feel PUMPING UP MY ADRENALINE IN TAKING THE CAR INTO ITS REDLINE, PRESSING THE CLUCTH, SHFTIING THE GEAR and then leaving the clutch and inducing throttle into the car at the same time!!! NOW this was performance.........
