Althought it wasn't directed towards me but i'll pitch in
First all off , get a good wash mitt . A great brand is Meguiar's but any will do as long as it is microfiber.
Wash mitts don't scratch the car while washing. Moreover whenever washing the car, never use force or puch donw on the wash mitt, only use the wash mitt to drag the loose dirt off the car.Pushing down on it will cause swirls and minor marring
Change you technique of washing.
The best technique is to use the two bucket method. One bucket full of car wash and the other with plain water. After going over one section of the car, rinse your wash mitt in the rinsing bucket and not the car wash bucket.Remember you don't want any dirt in the car wash bucket. If you began with a car wash bucket and clean wash mitt and ended the same way(i.e both are clean) and only the rinse bucket is dirty then you have done it the right way.
Do use gritt guards in the buckets if you can, they are cheap and are great at stopping the dirt you took off the car to be reintroduced on the body.
Always wash the car from the top down.Never use the same wash mitt for washign the body and tyres together.
Always remember:
1.Rinse
2.Wash
3.Claying( Not necessary with new car)
4.Polishing ( Not necessary if swirl or scratch free)
5.Sealing with glaze or wax!
