i had low profiles but i had to change them after 7000 KM ,they just ruin the suspension and ride quality in Pakistani road condition
I hope my 18's remain safe although on some roads i am like today is the day.. :-).
@omaryour xli has stock 15 rims buddy not 13. dont mix em with my city
its not about how u driveits all about which roads and places u drive if talking about tyre profile
really and i thought they were 13s so they 15s ! hashim u know more about xli then i do!!
Do you have low profile tires? Think twice
This above statement varies on application of tire : what driving speed and type/condition of road/track
using low profile from ages now and nott even a single time this kind of thing happened
Yes.. I am on 225/40/18 and not happened with me. but in NYC it happens very often due to pot holes.. Pot holes are well known problem here. I have seens people losing all 4 tires at once after going into pot holes. thats why we have a pothole hotline http://a841-dotvweb01.nyc.gov/Potholeform/ViewController/CreateComplaint.aspx
maybe you are forgetting what kind of potholes pakistan have even if we have a hotline for this purpose....repairing will be done after a year of the notice
whats a low profile tire anyways?
How active are they responding to complaints?

the real problem appears appears when one go to market in search of 01 tyre and comes to know that the tyres he was using are outdated so he had to change whole set (faced twice because of lack of company operated shops and dealers import as per their profit margin not considering buyers requirement). My perception is low profile tyre is relatively safe in case of tyre burst when compared to high profile. btw would anyone like to share behavior of RF tyres (run flat) on such type of tyre killer pot holes?
in general side wall of tyre is called profile, low profile means tyre with short side wall.
within 24-36 hours mostly. you recieve ana utomated message.. the hole is fixed. If you have wheels covered inder insurance.. you can file a claim and city then have to pay for everything.
The things get wrose in rainy days when one think it a water pudlle but in actual its a pot hole.

do insurance policies also cover such damages there?
well it depends what coverage you are having on policy. Some people get just wheels and tire replacement policy from dealers at time of buying a car. Some get it through the insurance. Mostly people dont carry it.
