I am thankful for the valuable advice.

However, Huzaifa bhai, there is one complaint. On 13-8-16, at the time of engine oil and filters change, your mechanic should have told me about problem in oil-chamber bolt. That could have been solved permanently in little time with little effort and little money. Now it has wasted several hours, more than 70 km of useless travelling and the problem is still there even after jugaar of rubber silicon. When the vehicle reached at my office, the leakage started again. Result: frustration and once again wastage of several hours. If, first time it was overlooked by chance. Second time it must have been taken seriously. For me, the time is the most precious commodity. Whom to blame. These things shake (rather ruin) the confidence of customers.

For the time being, too busy to spare time for maintenance, so most of the time the Prado is just parked in porch. However, the leakage looks very ugly on the white marble floor. Once get some time, I intend to get it fixed at all costs.

I found answers to my questions at net: sharing for info

Function of Power and 2nd buttons at gear-shift console:

      It is for starting off in second gear. If you require a greater  amount of torque so your wheels do not spin. I used it and it helped  when my Prado got stuck in sand dunes. Normally, the car try to start in  second gear, and if for example your car is stuck in Ice, first gear  will cause the wheels to spin, so in this situation, second start will  assist as it will transfer the power to the wheels very smoothly, thus  preventing them from spinning. I hope you understand.

            Starting in second gear provides less torque to the rear wheels, not more torque. This is why there is less wheel spin.

            I should have said "provides less torque to the wheels". ie all the wheels not just the rear.

Gents, both the buttons are part of the same assembly connected by the same wire. I want this for my LC 80. The ones I came across will not hold on being pressed. The switches are supposed to stay depressed on the first touch and then resume original position on second touch. If anyone has a spare and wants to sell please let me know. I tried Shershah but unfortunately if the PWR button was ok the 2nd was not working.

In this post, the sub-section on "Problems" explains that if automatic gear is stuck in a position, press the small red button adjacent to lever and keep it pressed with one hand till the lever is released by the other hand and shifted to desired position.

This info is found on net wrt 2nd and PWR button

2nd button is for snow/ice starts. Keeps the wheels from spinning so much.

The power button holds the vehicle in each gear a little longer before shifting. Good for towing.

I use the 2nd button in heavy, slow traffic on the freeway. It prevents constant shifting between first and second.

It's not unusual to have a loose connection on the underside of the buttons. Remove the screws holding down the shroud over the shifters and check the electrical connects going to the buttons. It's a start.

FYI, I keep the power button on except in low range where I find it causes harsher shifting.

Yes, dear, I changed it several months back. But, regretfully, I don't remember the exact quantity or price. Actually, I did a lot of renovation and spent almost 1,40,000, so kind' confused about break-up. A wild guess would be a few liters and a few thousand rupees

Check valve clearances....if tight they can cause blowby too in diesel......turbo seals should be checked .......and valve cover should be neat and clean ....no sludge
