Toyota Japan itself has retired the 4.0 1GR engine now

Luckily, I bought 2700cc , I'm quite satisfied with it.

Can you please explain what to look for in car where you said hp tell how fast your car can run but low-end torque for how quick your car can be....

Fortuner lain aur araam se 5-6 saal istimal karain. Magar buss comfort pher thora compromise karna paray ga as its based on hilux chassis with a stiff and hard ride. Otherwise its a very good car in used condition if found in 80-85 lac budget with new 1GD. Prado with 1GR full loaded TZ G is also an exceptional option but its gotten so expensive nowadays that it doesn't make any sense in 1.2-1.5 crore. Some people might say that fortuner doesn't make any sense in 85 lac but peace of mind is very important for us by spending our hard earned money. Btw I've heard a facelift fortuner is coming and some pictures also circulated. Anyways good luck brother!

Only reason prado is expensive and fortuner cheap is duties and taxes. Prado is import so duties are around 435% and on fortuner they are around 120%

One more thing i wanna know, kindly advise me regarding unichip, i have read many threads about it that it increases acceleration and improve fuel consumption etc. So, what do you say about it if i get it installed in prado 4.o., would it be a wise decision or it left any harmful effects on car

Prado is definitely better. It has better ride quality plus 4.0 V6 is a gem of an engine. Fortuner doesn’t come close to this combo.
But get Prado which is in a good condition not abused. In this case new is always better with peace of mind.

So Prado only if well maintained or else get Fortuner.

Yes it does increase power and economy, those claims are not false. But you should understand how it does that. It is essentially a piggyback ecu that alters the stock ecu map by changing the ignition timing and AFR at different load and rpm set points. An expert tuner by playing around with these settings, can tune the ecu for more power at higher rpms and more fuel economy at lower rpms. And create multiple ecu maps for fuel economy and power that can be changed by the user on the fly.

Our stock ecu is tuned by the manufacturer for long-term reliability and a balance of both power and economy. Such that vehicle is not too dangerously stressed at any given load. When you push it to one extreme, you compromise on long-term reliability.

Fortuner is not available new, has like 4-6 months booking right now, also 500k own
Current fortuner is over priced around 92-95 lacs.
Its outdated as international market has been facelifted.

Prado is worth every penny. Its far more superior vehicle than fortuner. 2012 model no problem just make sure its clean

Go with prado hands down.

Ps i own a revo 1gd but have experience of prado and fortuner.

Ive been confused between the two myself. Still am not sure which one to buy but im going towards the fortuner, only because its brand new. The only reason im skeptical about the fortuner is that its ride isnt that comfortable. Can someone please also tell me how and when can toyota confirm when the facelift variant will be launched. I dint want to spend near 10 million only for a new facelift to be released

My confusion is clear now, as i test drive fortuner sigma.and i just rejected it. Most of the people say that its quite good in acceleration. Is acceleration everything? Its drive is very bumpy. Dont even imagine that it will pass through rough terrains and bumps without giving jerks to Driver. Plus while accelerating its engine sounds a lot, that has irritated me alot. On the other hand prad0 4.0 was not only far better in acceleration but it was as smooth as an efficient sedan. Plus, it was adventerous while testing it on bumpy roads and other rough terrains. So, i prefer drive over accessories, attractive interioir and zero meter factor. You should test drive both suvs

Just for your peace of mind, do test drive Fortuner, and I'm sure that it will be even easier for you to select Prado.

That's what I have suggested to you before because I was saying this based on the experience that Prado and Fortuner can't be compared in any way other than the fact that Fortuner will be brand new, all the other green signals point to Prado.
Good luck with finding a clean Prado which might be a challenge for you.

Salam everybody, as mentioned in subject above. I have budget of around 130 millions and i am confused between above two suv,s. Due to following points
1) prado is more luxurious and comfortable, and bieng 4.0 is quite responsive. But is is model 2013
On the other hand sigma is brand new and is also a powerful suv, but some people say it is bumpy, not comfortable and smooth, vibrates above speed of 120kmh.
Plus some other pros and cons, so olease guide me for which suv should i go? Your opinions will be highly appreciated
