I am very sorry for responding late.....As I told you before that I had a backache....Feeling my back a little better,I planned a trip to southern Punjab including cholistan/drawer fort and Fort Monro....
Causing more delays in posting in this thread...:(....

We are no "GURUS"...not even close....We are just going through a learning process either by our own experiences or by our fellow brothers......Here on this Forum (Pakwheels) we have this fabulous opportunity to share our experiences/expeditions with each other....

You have used the phrase "old man" several times ... Well, I am a couple of years younger than you, I have a firm decision to stick to 25 perpetually Just kidding.

MashaAllah, you are young at heart and that is precisely the reason that you are surrounded by young people all around.

I lived in Lahore till 1991, and used to go to mountain areas, 3-4 times every years. But now I am in Islamabad, closer to the mountains, but don't get the chance to follow your foot steps.

Your journey makes me ponder ... I need to get out ASAP

Sorry for delay.....I think three factors...:)..
(1)...back ache...which was fine after few days By the GRACE OF ALL MIGHTY ALLAH..
(2)...I lost programme to resize pics....Actually my pc is now under extensive use of my son to play games...:D..I think he deleted or something......
looking forward to have another pc only for Pakwheels perposes....
(3)..planned a trip to southern punjab....cholistan + fort monro....
So due to above three reasons....I could not post...
every thing resolved now...(H)

I had no idea about Nissan Navara......neither I noticed any on the road...
But after reading your post...I googled and redirected towards our Pakwheels classified section.....having few expired adds of Nissan navara...
A double cabin from Nissan......but I feel a rare bird in Pakistan.....
No idea about its engine or spares....

Thank you so much for appreciation.....cooking itself is a fun and specially when you do it in some charismatic environment....(H)...
I like cooking occasionally at home and most of the time when on a trip....including some complicated desi stuff Like "Nihari" and "Biryani"...easy things like "Karahis" and my favorite "Bhindi"....some Chinese soups and Italian pizzas....
And BBQ...one of the favorites......
Due to the above background,we made our vehicle "Cooking ready" to enjoy cooking at different interesting spots....Just adding a little fun and breaking inertia of eating in dining room...:D...
conversion from butane to Lpg was interesting and successful...though a little lengthy....
BTW.....Your idea to stick to 25 years is really very tempting...:P...and inspiring...seriously thinking about following your foot steps.....lolzzz
I have seen and experienced one thing in my life brother....and it is ...that you can not do all the desired thing in all stages of your life....priorities keep on changing n changing.....physical strength and capabilities also decline as we age....
my above couple of lines are also proved by you statement about going to mountains frequently when in Lahore...and rarely when more closer..I.e Islamabad....
So...I think that remaining well in ways n means...one should live life to full extent......and should try to extract "happiness" from these small events in life....:)...
In the end,I am really obliged for you kind words for me....

Let me try to answer your questions....
(1)...your car is perfectly fine for this trip...any car will do in good mechanical condition....
(2)...cant answer this question appropriately because never been to Karachi in my life...only traveled upto MORO in sindh.....
From Karachi To Lahore......Hanif Bhai (@Libra) would be the most suitable person to answer because he travels very frequently on this route....in fact not only this but all routes in Pakistan.....:)
(3)…Distance between Lahore and Karachi is around 1150/1200 kms I guess ….and from Lahore to naran…550/600 kms..I think..through motorway…
(4)From Islamabad….continue on motorway towards Peshawar….take exit from Burhan…to hassan abdal…Haripur (I think)….Abbotabad….Mansehra…Balakot….Kaghan Valley….Naran….
(5)…Road conditions keep on changing…landslides are not avoidable …but overall quite motorable…
(6)…A vast variety of hotels available ….Rates depend upon demand and supply…..For example in this particular trip,we could not get a single room in any decent hotel for the first night and had to sleep in our jeep…lolzzz:D…but that’s a rare chance…
(7)No problems for kids …..ALLAH APNI HIF-O-AMAN MAIN RAKHAY…AMEEN….
(8)…Couple of months there for your tour….We are all here to help…..Don’t worry…
Your trip will be very enjoyable …INSHALLAH…

Every day I plan to post at least 50 pics....but something happens which drain my energies and time...for example....yesterday our Bikers friends (although I am not a biker...never owned one in life)..invited me to join them in a rally (safe biking awareness)...took about 4 hours.....stop n go condition.....Although I was in my jeep...but was still felt quite drained on return....and posting in this thread was postponed.....lolz....Once again...:)..

I took about 600/700 pics of cholistan and fort monro and will share them with you brothers too.....but after finishing this thread....
In between I also had a very short trip to snow covered Nathia gali on Suzuki Gimny jeep and another 400/500 pics.....
OH....I have sooooo much to share...what I do....
